On Saturday, David and I met Roxanne and Kirk and their children at the University of Alberta. We had photographed Roxanne when she was pregnant with Danika, after Danika was born and then Danika's one year birthday. Kirk joined us for Danika's newborn session but we had never met Kirk's son, Nate. Oh my goodness, talk about an adorable family. And Danika and Nate are so sweet together! We had hoped for nicer weather for an outdoor session, but this is spring in Alberta and mother nature decided to bless us with some more snow. However, the University of Alberta is one of my favourite winter locations to shoot at. The Old Art's building/Convocation hall has a beautiful interior which makes for some great photos. And because it is equally beautiful outside, we also got to sneak outside quickly for a couple quick shots and a quick video clip. Fresh white snow is always pretty even though we have had enough of it this winter, it probably will stick around for another month or so. I cannot wait for dry grass and flowers to bloom. Anyway, back to the session. Danika reminds me a lot of my daughter at her age, she is chatty and full of smiles and giggles and quite the little lady. Nate is all boy and is going to have all the girls after him as he gets older. Look out, Kirk and Roxanne, you will be chasing boys away from Danika and girls away from Nate, you will have your hands full. It was so great photographing Roxanne again, she is one of those clients who has also become a friend and we can talk like we'd only seen each other yesterday even though it's been a couple of years. I am so grateful for all our clients but especially those who I am now proud to call my friend outside of photography. Thank you, Roxanne and Kirk for allowing David and I the honour of photographing your beautiful family!
