Even the texture of them felt real.

We started with some shots on the staircase at Fantasyland hotel and continued on to Europa Boulevard and then down the mall for the formals.  We got some great shots along with some fun ones - the girls were so much fun and rocked all the poses!  After we let the wedding party go, we got a couple more shots of Danielle and Anthony and then David went to buy them a red velvet cupcake to share since they were not having a cake at the reception.  It was very sweet of him.  Danielle surprised David, Anthony and myself by shoving the cupcake into Anthony's face.  Capturing the look on Anthony's face and the smile on Danielle's face was priceless.

Thank you so much Danielle and Anthony for allowing us the privilege of capturing your special day and meeting your families.

Fantastic Couple Session with Tyler, Kim and their Bikes! https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/8/fantastic-couple-session-with-tyler-kim-and-their-bikes On a very smokey Friday evening, David and I were off near the Old Timer's Cabin to photograph Tyler and Kim who came in from Fort McMurray.  Kim had sent Tyler some images saying she'd like to do them and Tyler contacted us, said they'd be in town the next day and could we do it.  Of course we could!  We always love stretching our creativity and they were both so much fun to work with.

The smoke blanketing our city made it a bit more challenging and they weren't going to get the sunset photos they had hoped for - at least not naturally.  With some camera tricks enhanced by some photoshop, I am pretty sure that we will come close.

Thank you so much Tyler and Kim for allowing us to be creative and do these shots for you!  We hope you enjoy the sneak peeks.

Beautiful Wedding at Fairmont Hotel MacDonald with Kristine and Patrick https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/8/beautiful-wedding-at-fairmont-hotel-macdonald-with-kristine-and-patrick This past Saturday, David and I headed to Kristine's mother's home to photograph her getting ready shots.  Kristine's oldest son greatest us upon arrival and her mother welcomed us into her home and we could see how happy she was for her daughter.  We also got to meet Kristine's matron of honour and her younger son.  Her beautiful dress was from The Wedding Gallery.  It was so elegant.  Kristine and her Matron of honour had their hair done by Christi from Melange Salon.   They both looked beautiful.  We then headed downtown to the Hotel MacDonald and got a look at the Jasper Room where Kristine and Patrick's reception would be held.  It was absolutely beautiful and the spot where they placed the wedding cake (which had a touch of elegance with a very fun cake topper from Whimsical Cake Studio) was literally the most beautiful setting for cake photos that we have seen in our almost fifteen years of wedding photography.  We then went up to Patrick's bestman's room to photograph some fun shots with the two guys.  They both looked handsome in their tuxes from Dirks.

Patrick and Kristine's ceremony was in the gazebo with their neighbour and marriage officiant, Grace Frey performing the ceremony.  It was a beautiful ceremony  and the flowers, provided by Cerise Floral Studio were stunning.  with both of them saying their own vows.  Unfortunately, as soon as the ceremony was over, the skies let lose and the rain came.  So, family photos and formals were all inside the hotel.  We did try at one point to go back out when it looked like the rain had let up, only to get trapped under one of the shelters when it started to pour again.  We did get a couple photos in there and then Kristine's sons came to our rescue with an umbrella and we continued on indoors.

Their reception was very intimate and all the guests were very warm and welcoming.  You could tell they were all very special to the bride and groom.  The meal was buffet style and absolutely delicious.  Richard from Divinity kept the music going and everyone up on the dance floor the entire time we were there.  We did steal the bride and groom away at one point to get them a few photos outside since the rain had stopped and it was a lovely evening.

Thank you so much, Kristine and Patrick for allowing us to share in and capture your special day!  We wish you much happiness!

Fantastic Summer Day for Maternity photos with Renay, Brandy & Family at Hawrelak Park https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/7/fantastic-summer-day-for-maternity-photos-with-renay-brandy-family-at-hawrelak-park On Sunday afternoon, David and I were off in the heat of summer to Hawrelak park to meet Renay, Brandy and their three children for Renay's maternity photos. Renay was in an absolutely beautiful cream coloured maternity gown and looked stunning.  Both Renay Brandy were so friendly and easygoing.  We got to meet Renay's son, Quinton, and Brandy's son, Greyson and his daughter, Myah.  They are truly awesome children and were so easy to work with.  All three of the children were so great at posing for the photos, that it made our job so easy.  I swear Myah is either going to go into modelling or photography.  She is so pretty and photogenic and she also has a great eye for photography!  The geese, ducks and crows at Hawrelak park were so strange on this afternoon.  The geese and ducks kept coming right up to us, and I mean like within an inch or two.  At one point, I was about to take a photo and looked down to see a duck almost on top of my shoe!  Then, as we posed the family under a tree by the lake, three crows on branches above them, were looking down at them and one even tossed something down at them.  Greyson's head couldn't have looked up much faster as David told him there was a squirrel above him, and then playfully said, "oh wait, no, it's a crow!"

David and I really enjoyed our time with the entire family and cannot wait for when Renay and Brandy have their newest addition in September!

Thank you so much to all of you for allowing us to photograph you during this special time!

Mobster-style Wedding Photography with Monica and Jason https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/7/mobster-style-wedding-photography-with-monica-and-jason On Saturday, David and I were off to The Holiday Inn on 50th Street to photograph Monica's getting ready shots.  When we saw her dress, all we could say was, "WOW!"  It couldn't have been more perfect.  Cream coloured and lace and absolutely perfect for their Mobster-style wedding and it looked so perfect on Monica!  She said it was the 10th dress she had tried on and was the winner she found at David's Bridal.  Monica, her mom and her three bridesmaids all had the perfect 1920's/1940's style hair and makeup done beautifully by Rock It Out Salon!  And they all looked amazing!  Their flowers were also so pretty and suited the theme as well and were provided by No Ordinary Orchid - the Twisted Traditional Florist.

Soon we were off to the Kingsway Legion to get  Jason and his groomsmen for their getting ready shots and then to photograph their ceremony.  Jason looked great in his suit bought from Moores.   Jason and his best man, Kyle are absolutely hilarious and so there were some laughs during the ceremony.  At times it was hard for their marriage commissioner, Julie Tkachuk to not laugh along with the crowd.

After the ceremony, the wedding party climbed into their limo provided by Prestige Limos and we all headed to Rutherford House to do their formals.  Talk about the perfect location for their wedding photos!  The guys brought along their "tommy guns" - which were freshly painted from the white they came as to a more realistic looking black and also cigars and a pipe.  We had such a great time with this group.  They were such troopers despite the very hot day and how incredibly warm it was inside Rutherford House.

It was then time for heading back to the Kingsway Legion for their reception.  You always know if your event is at the legion, the food will be delicious and it did not disappoint.  I saw a lot of the crowd going back for seconds.  At the reception, every guest that came in got their Mug Shots done at a backdrop Monica and Jason put up.  It was so much fun for the guests.

Their cake was from Whimsical Cake Studio - a blue coloured cake on top of a variety of cupcakes that had a bunch of mini liquor bottles scattered throughout.  Their DJ Quinten Mcgie kept guests up on the dance floor for most of the night.  At one point, the entire wedding party and all but a couple guests got up on the large army tank outside the legion for a group photo!  So awesome to have so much participation!

Thank you so much, Monica and Jason for allowing us to be a part of your day and capture it for you!

Beautiful Wedding of Carianne and Travis at Hastings Lake Gardens & The Quarry Golf Club https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/7/beautiful-wedding-of-carianne-and-travis-at-hastings-lake-gardens-the-quarry-golf-club On Saturday, David and I were off to Carianne's parents home to photograph her getting ready shots.  All the girls were in the midst of getting their hair and makeup done when we arrived by Carianne's friend, Shay McNainy.  We grabbed some shots of this and then went straight to work on photographing her dress and all the details.  Wow! What a gorgeous dress with lots of detail - she chose it from David's Bridal. The flowers - oh how beautiful and the smell was so amazing.  The florist was Funky Petals in Sherwood Park.  After we got all the shots we needed, we headed out to Hastings Lake Gardens for the guys getting ready shots.  The guys looked very handsome in their tuxes from Dirks.  Their ceremony was very touchingly as they wrote their own vows and was officiated by Brian Napier - an officiant we have worked with in the past and think is awesome!

After a quick stop for a lunch break provided by Carianne, we did most of the formal photos at the gardens.  The wedding party was amazing to work with.  I was extremely impressed when I asked the guys to climb up on a very old tractor to do a guy shot!  They were such good sports!  The girls were just as awesome doing anything we asked without hesitation and were so much fun the entire day!  After, we headed to a groomsmen's home who happened to have an amazing backyard which also backed onto a huge field.  The dark clouds were coming in quickly and there were flashes of lightening and booms of thunder. We knew we had a very short window to grab the rest of the shots we wanted.  I think we got some fantastic and unique shots for Carianne and Travis.

We then headed to The Quarry Golf club for their reception.  What a beautiful place!  The food was catered by The Quarry and was delicious.  Carianne and Travis's wedding cake was done by Teresa's Custom cakes.  It had a small cake on top surrounded by different flavours of cupcakes.  DJ Kwake had everyone on the dance floor most of the evening pumping out the tunes.

We had such a great time photographing Carianne and Travis's entire day!  Thank you so much to both of you along with your fantastic wedding party!  David and I wish you so much happiness together!

Elegant Engagement Session at Edmonton City Hall with Christine and Lorne https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/7/elegant-engagement-session-at-edmonton-city-hall-with-christine-and-lorne On Friday amidst a rain/hail storm passing through Edmonton, we changed plans of meeting Christine and Lorne at Hawrelak Park and decided to do their engagement photos at City Hall.  We will be photographing their intimate wedding this September.  Christine and Lorne are very much in love and it is evident in every photo we took of them.  It was great to work with them as they were up to trying anything we asked of them and they did it with ease.  So much so, that they could have been models.  We got lucky in that there was a concert about to start while we were photographing and so they had a grand piano there which we asked if we could use for a couple shots.  I was extremely excited when I saw the chance for a reflection photo in the piano.

Thank you so much Christine and Lorne for being so easy to work with and for choosing us to capture this special time in your lives.

Warm summer Engagement Session at the Muttart Conservatory with Monica & Jason https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/7/warm-summer-engagement-session-at-the-muttart-conservatory-with-monica-jason Last Sunday, David and I were off to the Muttart Conservatory to photograph Monica and Jason's engagement photos.  This was our first time meeting Jason and it was great to get to know him along with Monica a bit better before their wedding in less than two week's time.

Monica and Jason were up for whatever we asked them to do even if it meant climbing the hill to the roof of conservatory on such a hot summer day.  I was thrilled to see the flower bed with the two red hearts made out of flowers.  So perfect for an engagement session backdrop.

We were disappointed that the Muttart and the city of Edmonton have implemented a new parking regulation requiring everyone to register their licence plate numbers if parking there.  We were asked if we would be going into the pavilions and when we said no, we thought for a second we would be refused parking.  Not so great when their grounds are one of our favourite places to photograph at.

Monica and Jason were great about that as well though.  We are looking forward to their "gangster-style" wedding on July 28th!  It should be fantastic!  Thank you both for choosing us to capture this special time in your life!

Edmonton 14th Century Wedding Photography with Lisa and Joshua https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/6/edmonton-14th-century-wedding-photography-with-lisa-and-joshua This past Saturday, David and I were off to Lisa's house to do her getting ready shots.  It was a very busy place when we arrived with last minute touches happening everywhere - from flowers going on all the lanterns on the main floor to hair and last minute sewing on the second floor.  Lisa made so many of the outfits including her wedding dress and Joshua's clothing for the wedding.  She is one talented and busy bride.  Her sister, Allie, braided Lisa's hair with ribbon.  Lisa is an expert on all things history.  If you want to know about any particular time in history, she is the one to ask.  In fact, a lot of the wedding party were also quite knowledgeable, we soon found out.  The flowers for the ceremony were from Flower's on 50th as well as Lisa's mother.

After we got the getting ready shots, we headed to Corpus Christi Catholic Church to get some groom and groomsmen/"guard" shots and get ready for the ceremony.  Joshua looked very regal in his 14th century groom's clothing and crown.

This ceremony was the third wedding we had done this season where cell phones and cameras were prohibited.  However, the reason for this at this ceremony was because there were no such things in the 14th century.  David and I were exempt from that rule, of course - lol.  Two knights were at the entrance to the chapel to greet the guests, and one caught one of the guests with a cell phone before the ceremony began and quickly confiscated it from her.

The ceremony was performed by Ralph Korner, who came from Joshua's church and Father Matthew Haysell from Corpus Christi.  In this ceremony, there was a procession of Matrons who walked down the aisle ahead of the wedding party.  They were followed by the "Bishop" and Father.  The groom coming down the aisle was much different than how things are nowadays.  2001 Space Odyssey music played to announce the arrival of the groom's "House".  The groom, guards and his family walked in.  Then, we waited for the bride to "arrive."  A girl, Jada is finally asked to see if the bride was here.  She came running back in announcing that yes, Lisa had arrived.  The bridal procession was very big!  Flower girls came in waving streamers, followed by the same girl who announced the bride's arrival, Jada, the maids all carrying lit lanterns, Lisa carrying an unlit lantern, two more maids who were holding the bride's train, the bride's parents and finally Lisa's siblings and their families.

With Lisa and Joshua standing at the front of the church, Lisa's mother removed a mantel from Lisa's father's shoulders and placed it on Joshua.  In turn, Joshua's father, removed the mantel from Joshua's mother's shoulders and places it on Lisa.

The ring exchange was also very neat with one of the Guard's coming forward with the bride's sword with the groom's ring on it (a ceremonial custom from the Vikings) and then the same Guard comes forward with a medieval style axe with the bride's ring on it.   Then after, the bride and groom lit the lantern that the bride had carried down the aisle (a German/Dutch Tradition).

Immediately after the ceremony, the families and entourage of headed to a part of Mill Creek Ravine for a picnic and then the formal photos.  David and I loved having the swords, dagger and axes along with the lanterns to use in the photos.  Everyone was so great with the photos despite the large population of mosquitoes in the ravine and the sound of thunder in the distance.  We had just sent the wedding party out of the ravine to focus a bit on Lisa and Joshua when it started to rain.  We all made it to the vehicles without getting too wet and started to make our way to the reception site - a family friend's large and beautiful yard.  However, by this point, it was a downpour.  Lisa and Joshua and many of their friends had worked so hard on setting up tents for games and the tables for the dinner.  However, the rain ended and the games they had planned were able to continue and everyone enjoyed them.  Then, Lady Jeanette came out to teach the guests some 14th century dances - which everyone had fun with.  Unfortunately, the knights were not able to fight in their tournament due to the wet ground.  But there was so much to do, no one seemed to mind too much.  The ladies seemed to enjoy putting their husbands in the stocks.  The skies darkened again and the threat of rain continued, but the "feast" went off without it raining again.  A couple of the guests were removed from the feast to be put in stocks by order of the bride and groom.  I, myself was asked by the bride if I was causing trouble when I tried to talk one of the knights into putting David in the stocks.  I quickly behaved myself. Towards the end of the feast, a rainbow came out and we were able to get some shots of the bride with her maidens, her flower girls (minus one who had already gone home) and Lisa and Joshua under the rainbow.

The last part of the evening was the cake cutting.  The cake was made by Joshua's grandma and the cake toppers - a barbie in ninja garb and a Ken doll dressed as a wizard.  Lisa used her sword to start cutting the cake, but then it was decided that it was taking a while to cut, so Joshua grabbed the knight's axe (I apologize if that is not the correct term for what was used) and smashed the cake into bits.  It shocked everyone to say the least but also provided laughs.

Thank you, Lisa and Joshua for choosing us to capture your special day and for having such a unique wedding!  We wish you much happiness together!

Rustic and Touching Wedding Photography with Carlee and Michael at Greystone B&B https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/6/rustic-and-touching-wedding-photography-with-carlee-and-michael-at-greystone-b-b This past Saturday, David and I were off to Spruce Grove to Carlees parent's home to photograph her getting ready shots.  We photographed Carlee's older sister Cassandra's wedding a few years back and now her and Reg have three children!  It was fantastic seeing Carlee's family again!  We had so much fun with Carlee and Michael during their engagement session, we couldn't wait to work with them again.  Carlee's dress was from David's Bridal and was so beautiful.  She is the first bride in Canada to wear this dress!  How exciting!  When we got there, Cassandra was just finishing up Carlee's makeup. Both Cassandra and Carlee work for Mary Kay and their makeup was very pretty!  Their friend, Ivy Scott did all the hair for the girls.  Carlee and Michael have a very talented family, Michael's grandparents made the all the flowers for the day.  Carlee's dad's face when he saw Carlee come down the stairs was very touching.  Carlee's mom was also tearing up. Teah Pike, a friend of Carlee and Michael was there as their videographer for the day.  She lives in Lloydminster and has recently started her videography company.  She was great to work with!

After we got the getting ready shots for Carlee, we were off just south east of Spruce Grove to Greystone Bed and Breakfast to photograph the ceremony and formals.  Michael and his groomsmen were looking very handsome.  Michael had on a grey suit while his groomsmen had on brownish pants with brown suspenders, white shirts and teal ties!  The look on Michael's face when he saw Carlee for the first time was the most touching expression I have seen in the past fourteen years!  The ceremony was performed by their worship pastor, Chuck Gasper whose ceremony was touching and funny.  Carlee and Michael chose to write their own vows.  I don't think there was a dry eye in the house when Michael read his.  Instead of a sand or candle ceremony, they decided to pour paint onto a canvas - three different colours to represent themselves individually and then their joining. Such a great idea.

After the ceremony, we got to explore the grounds of Greystone a bit more and discovered so many pretty areas to take photos!  I have so many favourites from this wedding!  Because we had more time, Carlee and Michael also wanted to head back into Spruce Grove to Jack's Drive Inn as it was a special spot for the couple.  That was so much fun!  If you've ever been to Jacks', you know it is not very big and so with a wedding party of twelve, plus us and Teah, we basically filled up the whole inside.  We got some great shots in there and enjoyed a yummy milkshake at the same time!

We then headed to Woodbend Hall for the reception.  This was a very cool reception.  Not only did they have a coffee bar (as Carlee used to work at Starbucks) and a candy bar, but the menu for the night was Pizza from Royal Pizza in Spruce Grove!  The first dance between Carlee and Michael was so emotional, we didn't even ask them to look at us during it because they only had eyes for each other.  They had two cakes - one a Norwegian traditional cake (sorry, I cannot even begin to try to spell the actual name of it) and then a traditional stunning teal and white wedding cake - both done by Lynn Guenther, aunt of Michael.  The Norwegian cake was a cake of rings and tradition says however many  rings the bride and groom pull up, is how many children they will have. After supper, Michael's cousin, Brendan Mayer (who has his own DJ business) dj'd the dance!

Thank you, Carlee and Michael for allowing us the honour and privilege of capturing the memories of your wedding day!

Fun Wedding Photography at Roger's Place with Kirsten and Jim https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/6/fun-wedding-photography-at-rogers-place-with-kirsten-and-jim For some reason, the first blog I did for this wedding we photographed two weeks ago, disappeared into cyber space.

On June 9th, David and I were off to the Courtyard Edmonton West to photograph Kirsten's getting ready shots.  Her dress from David's bridal was so beautiful and we loved her veil!  Michelle from Blush Artistry did a fantastic job with all the makeup and hair.  The flowers were done by Petals.  We went downstairs to the ceremony room just prior to the ceremony beginning.  Jim and his men looked handsome in their black tux.  A beautiful ceremony was performed by Carillon Cameron and all the ceremony music was prerecorded by Jim and his twin brother who both play guitar.  It was so special and so wonderful.  The families of both Kirsten and Jim were so amazing to work and to visit with.

The weather looked a bit threatening outside, so we were not sure if the original plan to head to Hawrelak park for formals was a good idea, so the new plan was to head downtown.  We started at the outside of the Art Gallery of Alberta where we got some fantastic shots of the couple and then the whole wedding party.  With both Kirsten and Jim being huge hockey fans, they asked if we could head over to Roger's Place to do the rest of the photos.  David and I are always excited about new locations and this one was so awesome!  I absolutely love the shots that we got for them and I especially love that this was a dream come true for Kirsten.  I think the only thing that might have made it better would have been if the Oilers had been there and she could have got some photos with them as well.

After we headed back to the Courtyard Edmonton West for the reception and a yummy meal catered by the hotel.  Revolution DJ provided some great music

for the dance.  The cake was beautifully done by Laurabella Custom Cakery and there was a huge surprise when it was cut - the inside of the cake was done in Oiler's colours - did I mention they were a huge fan of hockey and the Oilers?

Thank you, Kirsten and Jim for allowing us the honour to photograph such a special day for you.  We loved working with you, your families and your wedding party and photographing you and your wedding party at Roger's Place was so much fun!

Spring Engagement Session with Kristine and Patrick at The Alberta Leg. Grounds https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/6/spring-engagement-session-with-kristine-and-patrick-at-the-alberta-leg-grounds On Sunday, David and I headed back to the Alberta Legislature Grounds to meet up with Kristine and Patrick for their engagement session. We will be photographing their wedding this August at the Hotel MacDonald.  Kristine and Patrick seem to have everything all organized and ready for their wedding day and don't seem to be stressing at all, which is fantastic!

It was such a bright, sunny day and Kristine was fine with Patrick wearing his sunglasses for some shots - as she put it, she didn't see his eyes for the first year they were together because he always had his sunglasses on.  Nothing wrong with that!  In fact, most of the time I have mine on as well.  I hate bright sunlight on my eyes.

Kristine and Patrick both said they hated having their photos taken and did not take good photos.  David and I took that as a challenge and hope that they will like what we did.  Showing them some of the images on the back of our camera screen, Kristine remained diplomatic the entire time and didn't choose a favourite.  LOL.  As most of you who have been photographed by David and I know, we are very competitive and always trying to get the best shot.

We cannot wait for your wedding at the Hotel MacDonald in two months and to work with both of you again.  Thank you so much for choosing us to capture these moments in your lives together.

Beautiful Newborn Session with Bayenah and Tammam and Their Beautiful Family https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/6/beautiful-newborn-session-with-bayenah-and-tammam-and-their-beautiful-family On Saturday, David and I were off to Bayenah and Tammam's home to photograph eleven day old, Zaina along with her big brother, Aws and Auntie Yem.  Zaina was an absolutely perfect model.  She slept through almost the entire session and we were able to move her and place her in pretty much any position we needed her to be in.  Her brother Aws was the perfect big brother too.  He held her like a pro and he was willing to help with rubbing her cheek, helping pick out a bow for her head and also letting us know the correct way that the unicorn tutu should go.  Both Zaina and Aws are so photogenic, but then so are their parents and their Auntie.  Auntie Yem was visiting and was such a proud Auntie.  It was fantastic being able to include her in the photos.

Bayenah had matching robes for her and Zaina and I absolutely love the photos we got with the two of them.

We truly enjoyed the time we spent with this family photographing them.  Thank you so much for allowing us the honour of capturing these memories for you.

1700s Engagement Photography with Lisa and Joshua at The Legislature Grounds https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/5/1700s-engagement-photography-with-lisa-and-joshua-at-the-legislature-grounds On Sunday afternoon, David and I were off to meet Lisa and Joshua at the Legislature grounds on a very hot spring day.  It was not hard to spot them in the crowd of sun worshippers at the legislature grounds as they were the only ones dressed in 18th century clothing and Lisa also had a beautiful white parasol.  Lisa is very talented and makes all the beautiful clothes.

Their wedding is coming up very quickly this June and it will be a 1400's wedding with everyone in period clothing, knights, swords, and tournaments  Lady Jeanette will also be giving dance lessons.  We are very excited for this wedding!

David and I tried really hard to do the engagement photos in keeping with the 18th century rules - no showing your ankles, Lisa.  Although we deferred a lot to Lisa for her incredible knowledge of history.  If you ever want to know anything about any century, Lisa is the person to ask.  Also, in this engagement session, there was to be no kissing.  Joshua and Lisa have decided to save that for their first kiss at the alter.

I hope that we did justice to this 1700's engagement.  Thank you so much Lisa and Joshua for allowing us the honour of photographing this special time in your lives.

Beautiful Traditional Filipino Wedding Between Dennis And Marife https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/5/beautiful-traditional-filipino-wedding-between-dennis-and-marife This past Saturday, David and I headed out bright and early to Marife's hotel room at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott for her getting ready shots.  Her dress, which was handmade in the Philippines was absolutely breathtaking.  The detail to it was stunning and it had a beautiful long train along with a long veil.  Marife looked beautiful and her makeup was perfectly done by Makeup by Ruman.  Helping her get ready were her mom and dad who had come in from the Philippines and her sister, Jennifer.  The videographer, Mark Jason Lacson was just leaving as we arrived, but as the day wore on and we got to work with him more, we soon discovered that he was the best videographer that we have ever had the privilege to work with.  The flowers were at the hotel and were so pretty and done by Petals for Less

After this, we were off to the Catholic Parish of Corpus Christi to catch some photos of Dennis and his groomsmen and to photograph the ceremony.  Dennis looked very handsome in his grey suit while his bestman and groomsmen were in black.  As a gift, Marife had given Dennis horseshoe cufflinks and Dennis also had Superman cufflinks, so he wore one of each.  Dennis is a big Marvel Superheroes fan and Marife also had a surprise for him at the reception - but more about that later.

The ceremony was performed by Father Joseph Vadassery and it was a beautiful traditional ceremony.  The flower girls and the ring bearer, coin bearer, bible bearer and rosary bearer were so adorable as were the two boys who carried the "Here Comes your Bride" sign. There was also a candle lighting ceremony along with the veil and cord ceremony.

After the ceremony, we were off with the wedding party to the Muttart Conservatory  for their formal photos.  The whole wedding party was absolutely fantastic and there was not a complaint to be had about the hot spring day!  They were up for anything we asked of them and I think we got some absolutely beautiful photos for Marife and Dennis.

We finished up a bit early, which gave the wedding party a chance to relax, grab a bite to eat and freshen up before heading back to Corpus Christi for the reception.

The hall at the church was beautifully decorated and DJ Red already had some great music playing in the background.  Our photo booth, hosted by our very own Julie was set up and ready to go as well.  I started to work on the slideshow of photos from the day for Marife and Dennis as they had requested and had it done before the bride and groom and their wedding party arrived.  The cake was set up and was incredible (and as we discovered later in the evening, also delicious) and was done by a friend of the bride.  The surprise from Marife to Dennis was that although the cake looked very elegant and stunning from the front, in the back it had a Superman logo which was incredibly well done.

The meal was one of the best we have seen with so much variety and absolutely delicious and was catered by The Sawmill Banquet and Catering company.  I think everyone enjoyed this delicious spread.  I know we did.

There was quite the number of talented guests at this wedding who sang some songs for the Bride and groom including a very young little girl who did two songs and sang her heart out, a niece of the bride and groom who was also in the wedding party who performed two songs, one of which was written by her, the sister of the bride, Jennifer and even Dennis sang for Marife.

DJ Red kept people on the dance floor the entire time we were there and was up quite often leading line dances for the crowd.  Mark, the videographer was up doing some amazing camera work capturing the dances with a huge smile on his face the entire time.

Marife did a different type of bouquet toss which was quite neat.  She had a bunch of ribbons in her hands along with the bouquet but only one was attached to the bouquet itself.  The single ladies had to grab a ribbon and the one who grabbed the one attached to the bouquet got it.  Very nicely done!

Dennis also did a variation of the garter toss.  The single men had to take off their shoes, put them beside the bride's chair and they had to race to the spot, put their shoes on and race back.  The winner won the garter.

Thank you, Marife and Dennis for allowing us to participate in and photograph your amazing wedding day!  We wish you so much happiness in your life together!

Adorable Newborn Photo Session with Yashvir and his family https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/5/adorable-newborn-photo-session-with-yashvir-and-his-family On Friday, we welcomed, Yamanpreet, Navpreet, their one month old son, Yashvir and Yamanpreet's mother and father into our studio.  What a very nice family, we truly enjoyed spending time with them.  Yamanpreet and Navpreet had some great ideas they wanted for their photos and I think we were able to give them quite a few of those even if we put our own spin on them.

Yashvir was wide awake for most of the session and such big, beautiful eyes.  Yamanpreet and Navpreet were naturals in front of the camera and were so easy to photograph.

Thank you so much for allowing us the honour of photographing your new son.

Fabulous Spring Engagement Session with Krista and Bryce at Hawrelak Park https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/5/fabulous-spring-engagement-session-with-krista-and-bryce-at-hawrelak-park This past Sunday, David and I headed to one of our favourite spots to photograph - Hawrelak Park to meet Krista and Bryce for their engagement session.  It was a beautiful hot spring day and the park was BUSY.  Krista and Bryce came dressed in the most adorable "Future Hubby/Future Wifey" t-shirts for some of their photos with the date of their wedding on the back.  So awesome!  We had photographed one of Krista's best friend's weddings a few years back and were thrilled when Krista contacted us to photograph her wedding this August in Round Hill, Alberta.

Krista and Bryce are so friendly and fun to work with and we got some really great shots for their engagement session.  Although David did tease them about wanting swimming shots and I may have mentioned a shot of them balancing on a very thin downed tree.  LOL.  We had a great time with them and are looking forward to their country wedding!

Thank you, Krista and Bryce for allowing us to capture your engagement photos and soon your wedding day!

Adorable Newborn Photo Session with Patrick and His Family https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/5/adorable-newborn-photo-session-with-patrick-and-his-family On Friday evening, David and I headed to Iris and Rommel's home to photograph their newborn son, Patrick along with big brother, Aaron. I cannot say enough about this family! They were fantastic to work with and all so sweet.  Baby Patrick was almost a month old, but he was also a month premature, so he was still so tiny.  He was also the perfect model and the photo session went by so quickly because he did not fuss.  Aaron was a great big brother and held Patrick perfectly.  We tried out a new background and some new props with Patrick and he took all the poses in stride.  Everything we tried with him turned out so beautifully.

Iris and Rommel had the look of very proud parents in each of their photos and again, every pose turned out fantastic.  Iris and Rommel were so helpful during the entire session whether it was helping with background changes, putting props away, helping to fold backdrops, etc.  Thank you so much for making our job so easy!

We loved photographing your entire family and baby Patrick is absolutely perfect!  Thank you so much for allowing us the honour of photographing this special time in your lives.

Fun Spring Engagement Session with Kirsten and Jim At Jackie Parker Park https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/5/fun-spring-engagement-session-with-kirsten-and-jim-at-jackie-parker-park On Saturday, David and I were off to a new location for us.  Kirsten and Jim have two awesome dogs, Harley and Kokanee and so they chose Jackie Parker Recreation Area for their engagement photos.  What a pretty park!  We loved it!  So many great spots to photograph.  Not to mention how fun Kirsten and Jim are to work with.  They were up for anything and open to all our ideas as well as having some of their own.  Kirsten looked so pretty in her sun dress - so great since Saturday was our hottest day so far at 25 degrees!  Jim matched her nicely in his black shirt and jeans.

They had the cutest sign made for Harley to wear that said, "My Humans Are Getting Married" in the shape of a heart!  Such a great idea.  Being animal lovers, David and I always get excited when animals are included in our sessions.

Kirsten and Jim are so in love and it truly shows in their photos.  The smiles on their faces when they are looking at each other says it all.  We can't wait for their June wedding to work with them again.

Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of photographing this special time in your lives. a couple sit on the grass and leaves with their two dogsEngagement Photography Edmontonbeautiful couple, beautiful location and beautiful dogs!

Fantastic Winter Country Engagement Photography with Kelley and Patrick https://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2018/4/fantastic-winter-country-engagement-photography-with-kelley-and-patrick On Saturday, David and I enjoyed a beautiful drive out in the country as we headed towards Kelley's parent's farm for her and Patrick's engagement session.  Kelley and Patrick live in British Columbia, so although we had met Kelley, we had yet to meet Patrick and their son, Jacob.

Although the weather was a bit chilly and the wind nasty, we knew we were going to have a great time working with Kelley and Patrick.  Kelley's parents farm is awesome - there were cows, horses, llamas and dogs plus an adorable toddler and a beautiful couple!  And Kelley's parents were so welcoming!

I could tell right away I was going to be in trouble with the bonding going on between David and Patrick - lol.  Kelley had mentioned she wasn't sure if we would get smiles out of Patrick - but we managed.  And Kelley has such a beautiful smile!  These two are very photogenic!  And then there is Jacob!  Those eyes!  He is so sweet and his smile is a killer as well!

We got some great shots during the session even while we had sunk knee deep into some snow and my falling backwards into the snow after sinking seemed to provide entertainment as well.

Kelley and Patrick's wedding will be in September at her parents' farm and we are so very excited because we know it is going to be so beautiful and working with Kelley and Patrick and their wedding party will be so fantastic!

Thank you, Kelley and Patrick (and Jacob) for choosing us to photograph this special time in your lives!  We cannot wait to work with you again on your wedding day!
