Hi!  My name is Candice and I am a wedding, family and newborn photographer. I spent my summers on a farm near Innisfree, Alberta where my passion for photography flourished. I have taken workshops with photographers from New York and Los Angeles -from some of the best WEDDING, NEWBORN and PORTRAIT photographers in the world. I am also a member of WPPI (wedding and portrait photographers international) and I attend the conference every year to find out what's new and innovative in the photography world, it is always inspiring and renews my passion for my photography.  I have been a professional photographer for sixteen years.

I graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Education - majoring in Business Education and minoring in English.

On the fun side, I  love traveling, flying, taking any and all kinds of photography workshops and taking courses to keep current and constantly learning. I am a vegetarian and have been for a very long time. I also love dragonflies! And I have the cutest dog ever, - a Yorkie named Matilda (I may be a little biased).  As I get older, I'm discovering I'm becoming braver.  I even went zip lining a couple years ago. I love trying new things - including new photography techniques.

And I was brave enough to take on planning our own wedding in less than two months while downsizing from two houses to one and building a new house.
So, if you need any advice throughout our time together or you have an idea for an image, I'm all in!

On a more serious note, I believe that you should document all life's fleeting stages at every opportunity.  We recommend once a year for family photos.  Not only will it be a beautiful way for you to look back at this time in your family's life, but it will also be a legacy for your children.  A very talented photographer, Susan Stripling, has said, "as Photographers, we must always remember the value and power of creating images.  Get yourself and your loved ones IN FRONT of that camera.  Exist in photos!"  How important this is especially in this digital age.  Do you remember when everything was saved on floppy disks?  Well, when was the last time that you saw a floppy disk?  We do not know how long memory cards, DVD's, flash drives, etc will be around.  If all your images are only digital and on some hard drive somewhere, what happens when they are replaced by new ways of storing data?  Will all your memories be lost?  I cannot stress enough how important it is to have PRINTED images - whether hanging on your walls or in an album, have a physical copy of them.  When my grandparents passed away, I was lucky enough to have all their photo albums passed on to me.  My grandparents legacy to me is the memories I have and the photos.  Photos of my grandparents when they were young, photos of my mother and uncle when they were babies and photos of me from birth through to adulthood.  These memories exist for me because they are physical.  When I miss my grandparents, I can pull out an album and relive times with them.  You can spend money on Starbucks, Tim Hortons, the next latest clothing fad, the trendiest boots around (yes, I have a shoe addiction too), so spend some on hiring a professional photographer especially for your wedding day.  Your wedding photography is the one thing that is left once all the decorations are thrown out, the dress is packed away and the food and drinks are all gone.  For families, try once a year to capture your family - children grow up so fast.  And, print your own photos as well, don't just leave them sitting in your camera or computer.

Oh yes and I'm lucky enough to have just been married to my best friend, partner in crime and love of my life - David!

Hi my name is David!  I am a wedding, family, event and boudoir photographer.  I joined Stolen Moment Photography a year after Candice opened the studio. Candice tells me I am our lighting genius. I work with Candice on all the sessions and like Candice, I want to get the  natural smiles from our clients. I want our clients to enjoy our sessions and not feel like they have to force a smile.  I have also taken many photography and computer courses and workshops. I have also taken workshops with photographers from New York and Las Angeles - some of the best wedding, newborn and portrait photographers in the world. I am also a member of WPPI (wedding and portrait photographers international) and attend their conference yearly.  I am not new to photography by any means. I used to do photography many years ago - back in the film days and was dragged back into it kicking and screaming by Candice - okay, maybe it wasn't that much of a struggle.

I will be the one doing all our way up high shots - climbing anything I can find to get the right vantage points - often giving Candice near heart attacks (which is so much fun). I will also go down on the ground for the looking up shots. I like to find new and interesting perspective for my photos.  You see, I am the true daredevil of this team!

On a personal note,  I am a meat-atarian. It is a personal choice. I love to travel, fly and take the better photos, right, Candice?  Oh and I'm married to my partner in crime and best friend, the talented Candice.
