This past Saturday, David and I headed out near Ryley, Alberta to Dyllin's mom's home to photograph Cailin's getting ready photos. Cailin and her girls were just back from getting their hair and makeup done at OMD4 Makeup and FX in Sherwood Park. When we pulled Cailin's dress from Urban Bride out of the bag, we were so impressed with all the detail and just how beautiful it was. Of course when Cailin put it on, it was absolutely stunning on her.
We were then off for the two minute drive up the highway to Dyllin's grandparent's family farm. What an absolutely beautiful spot for a wedding. The ceremony area was set up and looking perfect with the unique flower arrangements from The Prairie Willow in Tofield that matched the ladies' bouquets. while Crazy Darrell's Entertainment was playing background music for the guests. Dyllin and his groomsmen were waiting for their cue inside the air conditioned house. I may have forgot to mention what troopers everyone was with the very, very hot weather.
The ceremony was performed by Jeremy Hummelle and I did see a couple of the guests tear up as did Dyllin when he saw his beautiful bride start her walk with her Dad down the aisle.
After the ceremony, it was on to family and wedding party photos. The mosquitos were bothering everyone and as I managed to make as many disappear in photoshop as I could from bridesmaid dresses, I can only imagine how bad they had been on those poor ladies in person. Cailin and Dyllin's photos came after the others were finished and Dyllin even had his motorcycle pulled out so we could do a few photos of both of them with it. It was a very awesome looking bike! I must admit I had a hard time picking the sneak peeks for this blog as there were so many photos that I absolutely loved of this very photogenic couple.
Just a little walk down to another area of the farm, tables and lights were set up for the reception. There was a very unique mobile bar onsite - The Tipzy Cow from Tofield and Crazy Darrell's Entertainment was again playing some awesome tunes which after the meal had the guests up dancing! The buffet meal from Food With Flair in Viking was so delicious. I don't think anyone went away hungry.
The night for us was finished off with a few beautiful sunset photos with Cailin and Dyllin.
Thank you both so much for allowing us the privilege of capturing this special day for you! David and I truly wish you both a life filled with love and happiness.
This past Saturday, David and I headed off to Carole and Martin's home to photograph Carole, her mother, her daughter and her step-daughter getting ready. We photographed Carole and Martin's backyard wedding shortly after Covid hit back in 2020. They had then planned to hold their originally planned wedding with friends and family in the summer of 2021, but Covid again had other ideas. So, finally July 2, 2022, they were able to hold their wedding with family and friends. Carole's dress was absolutely beautiful from the Bridal and Tuxedo House. Their flowers looked and smelled so pretty and were done by Flower Stop in Mornville. When we arrived, Jenny King was just finishing the final touches on everyone's makeup. All the ladies looked beautiful and Carole herself was breath taking in her dress and veil. The limo from Global Limo, arrived at the requested time to whisk the ladies off to the ceremony. Meanwhile, Martin, his step-son and Carole's daughter's fiancé were getting ready at the Chateau Louis Hotel. Martin's custom made suit was made Suits by Elliott. Martin looked very handsome in the paisley jacket that also had his name and original wedding date on various spots on the inside.
The ceremony and reception room was stunningly decorated. I don't typically include venue photos in a blog, but the decor is well worth seeing. Carole and Martin hired Exquisite Affairs to do all the decorating and she did an amazing job. The wedding vow renewal ceremony was performed by Joan Tkaczyk from Thanx on Time who performed Carole and Martin's original ceremony and again she did a lovely ceremony. After the ceremony, because of the rain that we have been having, it was decided that we would do family and formal photos in the ceremony location. Because the decorations were so beautiful, I think it was a fantastic backdrop for the photos.
The plated meal was catered by the hotel and was really delicious with chicken, pasta, salad and vegetables finished with a hazelnut chocolate cake. Speaking of cakes, see the photos of the wedding cake below that was made by Cake Couture. We have seen a few weddings use Cake Couture and all the cakes have been so pretty.
For the first dance, Carole and Martin surprised their guests with a perfectly choreographed dance to "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing." They had been taking dance lessons and it really showed. It was very well done and they made eye contact with each other throughout. Happy Wife, Happy Life kept the music going the whole day and evening and did a fantastic job of keeping the crowd on the dance floor.
Thank you so much, Carole and Martin for allowing us the true honour of photographing both your special days. David and I loved both your days and also enjoyed talking with many of your family and friends.
Almost two weeks ago, David and I were off to the Legislature Grounds to photograph Ashley and Sean, their two boys, Sean's mom and Dad, as well as his sister and her fiancé. It has been ten years (almost to the day!) that we photographed Ashley and Sean on their wedding day. It was absolutely wonderful to see them and his family again along with meeting their two adorable little boys. I mean, seriously how cute are they?! We also can't forget Sean's mom and dad's dog - who if you can believe it, is 14 years old. You would never know it to look at her.
We had such a great time getting so many awesome photos of this family. Thank you so much, Ashley and Sean for thinking of David and I when it came time to update your family photos.
This past Sunday morning, we headed out to Lion's Park in St. Albert to photograph Kathleen and Ricky's wedding. We started the morning with a really touching first look. The look of complete love and adoration on Ricky's face when Kathleen removed his blindfold was so beautiful. We then got to photograph Kathleen and Ricky for about half an hour before it was time for them to get to the St. Albert Legion for their ceremony. It was a beautiful ceremony performed by Ricky's boss. After their ceremony, we photographed their family photos followed by a few more formal photos.
Because we were only with Kathleen and Ricky for part of their day, we also staged the first dance outside before heading back to the Legion to stage their cake cutting and reception entrance.
Kathleen and Ricky, you both looked amazing and. your wedding was very beautiful. David and I would like to thank you so much for allowing us the honour of capturing the special moments of your day.
On Sunday afternoon, David and I headed to one of our favourite locations to photograph at, Lois Hole Centennial Park near St. Albert to meet up with Cailin and Dylin. Cailin and Dylin drove into the city for their engagement session with us and I'm ecstatic that their wedding will be on the family farm. I just love a country wedding!
Cailin and Dylin are absolutely adorable together. When they look at each other, there is so much love. They were up for any and all poses we asked of them and they are both very photogenic. Cailin and I got to comparing how similar David and Dylin are with their favourite shirts. We had a great time with them during their engagement session and we cannot wait to photograph their wedding next month.
Thank you so much, Cailin and Dylin for choosing us to capture this time in your life!
