A couple Fridays ago, David went solo in meeting with Tim and Corinne at the beautiful Muttart Conservatory to photograph their elopement. I was very sad to not be able to be there as well, but circumstances would not allow me to be. David was very happy to meet these two lovely people and not only capture their beautiful elopement but also be one of their witnesses. They had a beautiful ceremony followed by some photos in each of the pyramids before Tim and Corinne headed off for supper followed by their wedding night at the stunning Hotel MacDonald.
Thank you so much for allowing David the honour of photographing this beautiful time in your lives.
On Sunday, October 30th, the sun was out, the weather was beautiful and David and I were on our way to Jackie Parker Recreation Area to meet up with Tresha and Shaun for their engagement session. Tresha and Shaun are a fantastic couple and so easy to talk to. They have three boys, so I can really relate to them with having raised three boys of my own. Their three boys are so well mannered and behaved. The oldest really looks out for his younger brothers. Tresha mentioned that she wanted an engagement session full of romance and one that looked like new love (instead of where they looked like they had been together for several years). From our viewpoint, I think the images we took look romantic and exude love. How could they not with two very photogenic subjects in front of our cameras.
Thank you so much, Tresha and Shaun for choosing us to capture these special moments in your life. We cannot wait to work with you again next year for your wedding!
This past Monday, David and I were off to Devon to meet up with Ivana and Christopher to photograph their engagement session. Although the forecast called for rain, we got very lucky and had the perfect overcast fall day surrounding by the beautiful fall colours around the Devon River Valley. Ivana and Christopher are two of the nicest people you could ever meet and it is so obvious how in love they are. This busy couple have exciting careers and seven children between them.
It was a fantastic session getting to know them more as well as take some fantastic photos of them. We didn't really have to do a lot of posing as they basically posed themselves. The smile that light up their faces when they look at each other are just magical and David and I are honoured to be a part of this special time in their lives.
Thank you so much for choosing us to photograph your engagement photos as well as your wedding photos next year!
This past Sunday, David and I headed to Rundle Park to meet up with Victoria, Michael and Victoria's cat, Pixel. This was a first for us - we have photographed many engagement sessions with dogs, but never a cat. That's okay, Pixel seems to think he's a cat. Michael and Victoria are very sweet and were willing to try any poses we asked of them and we tried to include Pixel in as many as we could as well. It was a very warm fall day and the fall colours were absolutely beautiful.
Thank you so much, Michael and Victoria for choosing us to photograph not only your engagement session but also your wedding next fall.
Behind again on my blog. So, a couple Saturdays ago, David and I headed out to Sherwood Park to Joanne and Derek's home to photograph Joanne's getting ready photos. Joanne's makeup was just being finished by the talented Bemi of Bemi Amats Beauty. Joanne's dress from The Bridal Boutique was just stunning. Joanne did her own hair with a bit of assistance from her bridesmaid and dear friend also Joanne. The bouquets were so. beautiful and were done by the bride and groom themselves. After the getting ready photos, we headed out to the Sandman Inn Sherwood Park to photograph Derek and his groomsmen. Derek looked very dapper in his tux and tails from Derek's Formal Wear. Their wedding ceremony was performed by Dr. Janice Dodds who did a lovely ceremony and the talented Dave Shannon was already playing the music. If you don't know of DJ Dave Shannon, you should. He's been in business for many years and he knows how to keep people on the dance floor and having a great time. After the ceremony, we headed to Broadmoor Park and Festival Place for photos. The wedding party was fantastic to work with.
We then headed back to the hotel for the reception and the meal catered by Chop Steakhouse. It was delicious. The centerpieces on the table where all edible cupcakes made to look like bouquets by Buttercream Boutique. The reception was emceed by Joanne's one brother, Rosaire who did a great job! Derek ad Joanne's first dance was a beautifully choreographed dance to "I Don't Want To Miss a Thing" and they did a wonderful job.
Thank you so much, Joanne and Derek for allowing us the honour of photographing this special time in your lives. We wish you a lifetime of happiness.
