This past Sunday, David and I headed off to the Legislature Grounds to meet up with Joanne and Derek on a pretty nice winter afternoon. With the cold spell we are having this week, the session could not have been timed any better. Although it was a bit chilly, it was nothing like the -20 weather now. We got there about 45 minutes before the Christmas Lights were turned on, so we could capture some golden hour shots and then the Christmas light shots that Joanne and Derek were wanting. Joanne and Derek were such troopers enduring the cold, and me dealing with the ever changing lighting conditions for pretty much each photo we took. Joanne was especially great because of the amount of times I had her take her gloves off so we could get the ring in the shots. Thank you so much to both of you for being so great in the chilly weather.
This was our first time meeting with Joanne and Derek in person as we had a Zoom meeting with them when they booked with us. It was easy to see how in love they are and what an amazing couple they are just by the time we spent with them during this session.
David and I are looking forward to their wedding in September 2022 and working with both of them again! Thank you so much, Joanne and Derek for allowing us the privilege of capturing this special time in your lives.
This past Saturday, Julie and I were off to Beaumont to Glen and Cody's home for their getting ready photos. We knew from the second we walked in the door that it was going to be an awesome wedding. The entire wedding party was so fantastic and amazingly fun. We both felt welcomed immediately. We got some great shots of their suits which they had custom made from Moores and dresses and groomsmen suits hanging along with some of the Groom items we found around their living room and dining room. We then all left for Eagle Rock Golf Club for the outdoor ceremony over looking the water. The ceremony was performed by Joanne of Circles and Ceremonies. It was a very touching ceremony and I decided right then that if I was ever needing a Celebrant, I would definitely be wanting Joanne. All the bouquets and boutonniere were from Callia.
The family and formals were also done at Eagle Rock. We did all the wedding party around the water feature and then took two golf carts to do Cody and Glen's photos together around the course. Considering neither Cody or Glen or myself or Julie had any golfing experience or any idea of the course, we drove around in circles a few times and laughed about how we had no clue what we were doing. But in the end, I think we got some fantastic photos of them which showcase how much love these two have for each other. We got them back to the club house just in time for them to be introduced and for supper which was catered by Eagle Rock to begin. Supper was do delicious and there was a great variety of something for everyone. Music was supplied by Grindstone Productions and I don't think we ever saw the dance floor empty. Soon it was time for cake cutting and the cake looked awesome - it was done by Sweets by McVeets.
I don't know about Julie, but my face was sore from smiling and laughing by the end of the night. All the guests, the grooms, the families and the wedding party were so much fun to be around. Everyone was having a fun time and we got a lot of fun photos throughout the reception which I'm sure Cody and Glen will love seeing.
Thank you so much, Cody and Glen for allowing Julie and I the honour of photographing your wedding and sharing in your special day!
The past Tuesday, my daughter, Grace and I welcomed Tejinder, baby Arnav along with Navdeep and her two youngest boys into the studio. Arnav is almost one month old and so adorable. David and I had previously photographed Navdeep's youngest when he was a newborn along with her middle son's first birthday. She thoughtfully recommended us to Tejinder.
I absolutely love the photos of Tejinder holding Arnav as you can truly see the bond and love between the two. Tejinder brought along the adorable bunny outfit with the carrot and both Grace and I were "awwwwing" over how cute he looked in it. As with most babies that are close to being a month old, he had already learned he was free from the womb and could stretch out, but when I swaddled him, he quickly went to sleep with a little bit of mom's help.
Thank you so much Tejinder for allowing me the honour of photographing your beautiful son and congratulations!
This past Saturday, myself and the amazingly talented Julie headed out to the Coast Nisku Inn to photograph the getting ready of Claire and her bridesmaids. Claire looked stunning in her dress from the Bridal Boutique and the ladies had their hair and makeup done at the Silver Shear Studio in Leduc. The bridesmaid dresses were the most beautiful shade of mint and each bridesmaid looked so pretty as well. Because Julie and I got there a bit early, we were able to set up the finishing touches on the photo booth which my oldest (and assistant extraordinaire), Cameron had mostly set up the night before. We also got to meet the florist - Stephanie Taylor who had the most beautiful bouquets and table arrangements. And let me tell you, the smell of them as amazing. Soon it was time for the ladies to head downstairs to the lobby to meet up with the guys for the first look photos. Jeff looked very handsome (and a bit nervous) in his tux from Derks. The limo from Last Minute Limo was waiting outside to take the wedding party to the Leduc Reservoir for some of the formal photos and then it was off to the Leduc Stone Barn for the ceremony. If you have never been to the Stone Barn, you really should go see it for yourself. It is gorgeous. I was like a kid in a candy store. The ceremony was performed by a friend, Ann Kurlovich and the guests threw rose petals as the couple walked back up the aisle after the ceremony.
After some more formals at the Stone Barn, we headed back to the Coast Nisku Inn ballrooms for the reception. The tables were decorated with Disney themed lanterns to match the names of the tables. The meal was buffet style and catered to by the Inn. Claire and Jeff also had a late night snack of poutine and chicken wings - how awesome is that! The cake was beautifully done by Once Upon a Cake and was also their gender reveal as Claire is 22 weeks pregnant. I loved the look on her face in the photo where they cut into the cake and see that they are having a baby girl. What a precious moment!
The music was supplied by the very talented Paul Worth from Calgary who made the drive up Saturday morning with his best friend. This guy is very talented and he kept the people up and dancing.
Julie manned the photo booth for the reception and was kept busy all night with it while I caught the special moments during the reception and dance. We enjoyed meeting and talking with the guests. It truly was a beautiful day for this wonderful couple.
Thank you so much, Claire and Jeff for allowing Julie and I the honour of capturing your beautiful day.
This past Sunday, my oldest son, Cameron and I headed out to Beaumont to photograph the engagement photos for Glen and Cody. Julie and I will be photographing their wedding at the end of September. It was another one of those very hot days like we've been fortunate enough to have all summer. They had along their two dogs, four year old Vader and four month old Luna for some pictures. These dogs were so well behaved for the session! They even posed beautifully. Glen and Cody are such awesome guys and were always smiling. They were up for any poses I gave to them and were just the cutest together. I am truly looking forward to working with them again on their wedding day.
