A couple Saturdays ago, on what I believe was the hottest day this summer at a balmy 36 degrees, David and I headed to Kamil's parents home to photograph Jessica getting ready. Jessica had her close group of friends with her to help her get ready and share in this part of her special day. Her dress was absolutely stunning and from the now out of business The Bridal House. Jessica's long time best friend from childhood, Jaclyn Moorhouse did a an amazing job on Jessica's hair and makeup. Jessica's bouquet was beautiful from Black Door Bouquets. From there, we all headed to the St. Albert Botanical Gardens to photograph the first look photos. Kamil looked awesome in his red suit from Moores and red converse runners. It was a very emotional first look and we, as photographers, felt so privileged to capture it. Jessica and Kamil did not have a formal wedding party but they did include their adorable pup, Happy as their ring bearer and Kamil's family dog, Sheena as their flower girl. When we first met Jessica, I think we bonded immediately over Happy and our dog, Matilda. I swear they will be the best of friends one day.
After some photos with the family, close friends and the dogs, we were off to St. Edmunds Church where Father Jossy performed a beautiful ceremony. Kamil was walked down the aisle by his parents and Jessica's brother had the honour of walking the bride down the aisle. We then proceeded to the Killarney Community League Hall for some much needed air conditioning and to finish the rest of the formal photos in the beautiful green space right outside the hall. The hall looked beautiful and Jessica and Kamil thought of everything from.a balloon wall display to get polaroids in front of, a candy bar, table for the late night snack of pizza and to take home homemade doggy treats. I am sure I have forgotten to mention some of the awesome things that they had but trust me, it was all amazing.
The meal was delicious and catered by A Capella Catering with their cake from Cake Couture. Because the happy couple were off on their honeymoon for a month, there were take out containers provided so guests could take home any remaining food from the meal, desserts, etc. The music provided by Wolfman Music was great and kept people on the dance floor. The MC for the night was again the multi-talented Jaclyn Moorhouse who did a fantastic job! Jessica and Kamil had purchased a bunch of sparklers for all the guests so we could take a sparkler photo for them. I absolutely loved doing this!
Thank you so much, Jessica and Kamil for allowing us the honour of capturing your engagement and wedding photos. We can't wait to hear all about your fabulous honeymoon and we wish you a lifetime of happiness!
