This past Saturday, Julie and I, (and, yes you read right), headed off to Kim and Jeremy's home to photograph Kim's getting ready photos. Now, those familiar with us know that Julie is the amazing lady who runs our photo booth. However, because David took a nasty 15 foot fall last Monday and will now be in the hospital for a wee bit, Julie stepped in to help. And, I think Kim and Jeremy will agree, Julie was amazing and got some stunning shots. Although it had poured as well as hailed that morning, the rest of the day was dry and perfect.
Kim looked absolutely beautiful with her hair and makeup done by Icon Hair and Body. And I just want to add that she looked just as awesome at the end of the night - her makeup didn't smudge, run, etc - it was perfect from start to finish! Both Julie and I oohed and awed over Kim's dress as well. It was a Vera Wang from David's Bridal and was definitely stunning. All the bridesmaids looked beautiful as well with their hair and makeup and dresses. Their flowers were beautiful from Petals on the Trail.
After the getting ready shots, we all headed to meet the guys at Lion's Park in St. Albert for First Look and Formal photos. Jeremy did a first look with their daughters, Austyn and Jayden first and then Kim did a first look with their son, Wyatt followed by her first look with Jeremy. Kim also had another surprise up her sleeve (or in this case behind her back) as she presented Jeremy with a large can of Smirnoff Ice. The look on Jeremy's face was absolutely priceless! Jeremy looked handsome in his black pants from LeChateau and his suspenders and bow tie from Armonia.
Because of the smoke that was in the air from the BC forest fires, there was a haze that was perfect for photos and gave the park a surreal look. We were joined at the park by Kim's brother, Trevor, with his two children who were their flower girl and ring bearer. These two were the sweetest children and kept Julie and I laughing the entire day.
After the formals, we headed back to Kim and Jeremy's for their backyard ceremony and reception. Kim's brother, Trevor was the officiant and performed a fabulous ceremony that started out with words from The Princess Bride movie.
The ceremony was followed by family photos and then the dinner from Memphis Blues BBQ which everyone was raving about it was so good. The cake and cupcakes were from Flirt Cupcakes and the sound system for the day was from Revolution Entertainment.
Thank you so much, Kim and Jeremy for allowing us the privilege of photographing your engagement and wedding photos. We truly enjoyed every minute of working with you!
