This past Saturday when winter decided to give us a sneak peek, David and I headed off to Lois Hole Cenntenial park which we are lucky to have almost in our backyard to meet with Gwen, Terry and their family. Their daughter-in-law Kate, actually contacted us regarding a gift certificate they won at a silent auction. Kate also grew up in the same neighbourhood as my children and I lived and is friends with Murphy, our bride from last weekend and her younger sister was in my oldest son's class. Small world, huh? I love seeing those I knew as children now all grown up, although it does make me feel old. LOL.
Kate and her husband, Greg, decided to do a photo session with Greg's family for his mom, Gwen's birthday which was at the beginning of October. Family portraits are always such a wonderful gift. They all came prepared with blankets to not only sit on but to also use to keep warm with. Believe me, it was needed that day!
We had a great time with this family! They all had beautiful smiles and were great to talk with on our walk through the park. I'm sure by the time we got from the parking lot to Big Lake, they were half frozen but they were such troopers about it all. I know I took a while to thaw out after the session and I wasn't taking my coat off for photos!
By the time we started heading back to the parking lot, it had started to snow - a lot. But, this made for some cool photos as well.
Thank you so much to all of you for being such great models despite the taste of winter that day! We truly enjoyed photographing your family!
