On Saturday, David and I had Tapasaya and Bobby to the studio to photograph their 8 day old princess, Layana.  We had photographed a maternity session with them and also Tapasaya's awesome baby shower, so it was great to see them again and to meet their new daughter.  

Layana was an absolute dream to photograph.  She was awake during a lot of the session, but she was so calm and alert.  I have honestly in sixteen years of photographing newborns, plus having four of my own, never seen a newborn so alert and curious about her surroundings and I know I have never gotten a photograph of an 8 day old baby smiling before.  Like a said, a dream to photograph.  

It's no surprise though, her parents, Tapasaya and Bobby have also been a dream to photograph.  Both are very photogenic.  And, you could not tell that they are first time parents.  Both of them seemed like experienced parents.  They were so relaxed and calm which always helps with the session.  Both of them took turns with Layana and were so amazing with her.  You can just tell what amazing parents they are - Layana is one lucky girl.
