Amazing Country Wedding With Krista and Bryce
On Friday night, David and I headed towards Round Hill/Camrose area so we could attend Krista and Bryce's wedding rehearsal and photograph their wedding on Saturday. This couple is so amazingly sweet and completely in love. It is just so nice to be around them. We got to meet most of the wedding party on Friday night and knew we were in for some fun with them on Saturday.
Saturday morning, we headed to Krista's aunt's very cool house - very rock and roll/retro to photograph her getting ready. The girls had already gotten their hair done by Hollie Smith at Evolve Style Council and Chevy Rabbit from Edmonton was doing their makeup when we arrived. We had met Chevy previously at Krista's best friend, Ashely's wedding a few years back. He is a great makeup artist and nice to work with. Unfortunately, Ashley, who was to be the matron of honour at Krista's wedding was at the hospital in labour and had a baby boy by the end of the day. Krista, however, had some other great ladies in her wedding party and Mo (as Krista said we could call her), Krista's cousin stepped up to be maid of honour. We started to photograph Krista's dress from David's bridal - wow! Such a pretty dress! And her bouquet - I don't even know how she managed to carry it all day, but it was beautiful and HUGE! All the flowers came from Pedersen's in Camrose. The bridesmaid dresses were the prettiest blue ever - and looked amazing on all three of them.
After we finished the getting ready shots, we headed to Round Hill Community Hall where we grabbed Bryce and his four groomsmen for some shots before the service. The guys looked fantastic in their vests, bowties and suspenders. Bryce was wearing his grandfather's suspenders which made them extra special. Their ceremony was officiated by Arden Olson from Camrose and one of Krista's cousins played the fiddle as the wedding party came down the aisle.
We headed out after the ceremony and family photos to a very awesome farm to do the formals. What a great group to work with. It started with The bestman, Marc (brother of Bryce) complimenting David on his photography, which inspired me to volunteer Marc to climb up to the engine hood of a tractor for a photo. Taking David's side over mine can be a very dangerous move - lol. It was all in fun and Marc was such a good sport. Mo was just as fun as she climbed up on top of a round bale for another photo. Did I mention this party was great? We got some great shots of Krista and Bryce in a barley field, much to my delight! I always love a great field shot! Then I asked Krista if she would be up for sitting and laying on some round bales and being as awesome as she is, she said yes! After the farm, we headed back into Round Hill to the local bar as they had a bottle of champagne for the new Mr and Mrs. We got some great shots in there as well with Krista and Bryce at the pool table and then the wedding party having some shots.
Then it was time for the reception back at the community hall. The meat was supplied by Tofield packers, the vegetables (which I can definitely say were delicious) were from Bryce's neighbours's farm - Shannon and Peter and all prepared by the Elks. The bride and her cousins and a few others made all the desserts and their friend, Erin Pozerniuk made the wedding cake and cupcakes. Jeanette Wright, a very good friend of the family, was the DJ for the night. During a break, a grabbed the wedding party to do a night time shot of the champagne being opened as well as a few more shots with Krista and Bryce.
Marc shook up the champagne after Bryce had opened it without it spraying out and the spray came out big time - right towards David and I. LOL. Although I complained and maybe whined a bit about smelling like champagne for the rest of the night, it was a lot of fun.
Thank you so much, Krista and Bryce for being so awesome and for allowing us the privilege of capturing your day for you. We wish you so much happiness in your life together.
