On Saturday, David and I were off to The Holiday Inn on 50th Street to photograph Monica's getting ready shots. When we saw her dress, all we could say was, "WOW!" It couldn't have been more perfect. Cream coloured and lace and absolutely perfect for their Mobster-style wedding and it looked so perfect on Monica! She said it was the 10th dress she had tried on and was the winner she found at David's Bridal. Monica, her mom and her three bridesmaids all had the perfect 1920's/1940's style hair and makeup done beautifully by Rock It Out Salon! And they all looked amazing! Their flowers were also so pretty and suited the theme as well and were provided by No Ordinary Orchid - the Twisted Traditional Florist.
Soon we were off to the Kingsway Legion to get Jason and his groomsmen for their getting ready shots and then to photograph their ceremony. Jason looked great in his suit bought from Moores. Jason and his best man, Kyle are absolutely hilarious and so there were some laughs during the ceremony. At times it was hard for their marriage commissioner, Julie Tkachuk to not laugh along with the crowd.
After the ceremony, the wedding party climbed into their limo provided by Prestige Limos and we all headed to Rutherford House to do their formals. Talk about the perfect location for their wedding photos! The guys brought along their "tommy guns" - which were freshly painted from the white they came as to a more realistic looking black and also cigars and a pipe. We had such a great time with this group. They were such troopers despite the very hot day and how incredibly warm it was inside Rutherford House.
It was then time for heading back to the Kingsway Legion for their reception. You always know if your event is at the legion, the food will be delicious and it did not disappoint. I saw a lot of the crowd going back for seconds. At the reception, every guest that came in got their Mug Shots done at a backdrop Monica and Jason put up. It was so much fun for the guests.
Their cake was from Whimsical Cake Studio - a blue coloured cake on top of a variety of cupcakes that had a bunch of mini liquor bottles scattered throughout. Their DJ Quinten Mcgie kept guests up on the dance floor for most of the night. At one point, the entire wedding party and all but a couple guests got up on the large army tank outside the legion for a group photo! So awesome to have so much participation!
Thank you so much, Monica and Jason for allowing us to be a part of your day and capture it for you!
