This past Saturday, David and I headed out bright and early to Marife's hotel room at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott for her getting ready shots. Her dress, which was handmade in the Philippines was absolutely breathtaking. The detail to it was stunning and it had a beautiful long train along with a long veil. Marife looked beautiful and her makeup was perfectly done by Makeup by Ruman. Helping her get ready were her mom and dad who had come in from the Philippines and her sister, Jennifer. The videographer, Mark Jason Lacson was just leaving as we arrived, but as the day wore on and we got to work with him more, we soon discovered that he was the best videographer that we have ever had the privilege to work with. The flowers were at the hotel and were so pretty and done by Petals for Less
After this, we were off to the Catholic Parish of Corpus Christi to catch some photos of Dennis and his groomsmen and to photograph the ceremony. Dennis looked very handsome in his grey suit while his bestman and groomsmen were in black. As a gift, Marife had given Dennis horseshoe cufflinks and Dennis also had Superman cufflinks, so he wore one of each. Dennis is a big Marvel Superheroes fan and Marife also had a surprise for him at the reception - but more about that later.
The ceremony was performed by Father Joseph Vadassery and it was a beautiful traditional ceremony. The flower girls and the ring bearer, coin bearer, bible bearer and rosary bearer were so adorable as were the two boys who carried the "Here Comes your Bride" sign. There was also a candle lighting ceremony along with the veil and cord ceremony.
After the ceremony, we were off with the wedding party to the Muttart Conservatory for their formal photos. The whole wedding party was absolutely fantastic and there was not a complaint to be had about the hot spring day! They were up for anything we asked of them and I think we got some absolutely beautiful photos for Marife and Dennis.
We finished up a bit early, which gave the wedding party a chance to relax, grab a bite to eat and freshen up before heading back to Corpus Christi for the reception.
The hall at the church was beautifully decorated and DJ Red already had some great music playing in the background. Our photo booth, hosted by our very own Julie was set up and ready to go as well. I started to work on the slideshow of photos from the day for Marife and Dennis as they had requested and had it done before the bride and groom and their wedding party arrived. The cake was set up and was incredible (and as we discovered later in the evening, also delicious) and was done by a friend of the bride. The surprise from Marife to Dennis was that although the cake looked very elegant and stunning from the front, in the back it had a Superman logo which was incredibly well done.
The meal was one of the best we have seen with so much variety and absolutely delicious and was catered by The Sawmill Banquet and Catering company. I think everyone enjoyed this delicious spread. I know we did.
There was quite the number of talented guests at this wedding who sang some songs for the Bride and groom including a very young little girl who did two songs and sang her heart out, a niece of the bride and groom who was also in the wedding party who performed two songs, one of which was written by her, the sister of the bride, Jennifer and even Dennis sang for Marife.
DJ Red kept people on the dance floor the entire time we were there and was up quite often leading line dances for the crowd. Mark, the videographer was up doing some amazing camera work capturing the dances with a huge smile on his face the entire time.
Marife did a different type of bouquet toss which was quite neat. She had a bunch of ribbons in her hands along with the bouquet but only one was attached to the bouquet itself. The single ladies had to grab a ribbon and the one who grabbed the one attached to the bouquet got it. Very nicely done!
Dennis also did a variation of the garter toss. The single men had to take off their shoes, put them beside the bride's chair and they had to race to the spot, put their shoes on and race back. The winner won the garter.
Thank you, Marife and Dennis for allowing us to participate in and photograph your amazing wedding day! We wish you so much happiness in your life together!
