Last Saturday we were off to our second wedding of the weekend. The wedding of Meghan and Trevor was happening at the Sandman Inn West Edmonton. We started by taking a quick sneak peek at the ceremony room and the reception room. I am pretty sure I squealed with delight when I saw the decorations. Rustic doors, sunflowers, burlap. We headed up to the 11th floor to capture Meghan's getting ready shots. Again, I was so excited about all the details she had including her cowboy boots. We got some fun shots of her with her bridesmaids as well as some touching shots of her with her mom. Did I mention how beautiful her flowers and her bridesmaid flowers were? Sunflowers and roses. You would never have guessed that the bride's bouquet came from one place and the bridesmaids from another. They were a perfect match from Wild Orchard and Two Buds. The hair and makeup was done by IMH Studios.
We went down to the lobby and caught up with Trevor and his guys as well as Meghan and Trevor's two dogs, Reilly and Harper, aka the ring bearer and flower girl. The guys looked very handsome in their navy suits with red ties and sport team socks!
Their ceremony was very touching as they had written their own vows and was officiated Tim Hydzik. After the ceremony, we went to the lobby to do some family photos. During the photos, they sky just let loose. I don't think I have ever seen it come down so hard! However, we set off with great hope that the rain would stop by the time we got to the legislature ground. And if not, two of the bridesmaids had gone out to buy umbrellas. Well, the rain did not stop. But, the whole wedding party were such troopers and although some got more soaked than others, we got some great shots regardless of the rain. And, there are very few times when you can actually get shots with the fountains in the background where there is absolutely no one in the pool or on the grounds around the fountains.
We headed back to the Sandman for the reception. The room was beautifully decorated and the cake - two layers with cupcakes around it was so pretty and as we found out later, so delicious - from Art of Cake. The DJ from Happy Wife Happy Life kept the dance floor busy as well as at the Photo Booth. To end the evening, we went outside with Meghan and Trevor to get some sparkler/light painting shots.
Thank you so much Meghan and Trevor for allowing us the honour of capturing your special day and for being so great and making our job so easy despite the weather not cooperating like we had hoped.
