On Saturday, David and I were off to the Beullah Alliance Church to photograph Alyssa's getting ready shots. Alyssa's hair and make up were beautifully done by Time Out Beauty Retreat in Spruce Grove. Her dress was absolutely stunning. I don't think I have ever seen a dress like hers. It even had hidden pockets! She looked radiant when she put it on. The flowers were so pretty and done by Tarah's Grower Direct. The church coordinator, Marley Horne did a fabulous job of keeping everything on time and all the details were perfect.
The guys looked fantastic in their grey suits. Each guy had DC character cufflinks and Oilers socks.
Their ceremony took place in the chapel and was officiated by Pastor Neil Troung. I have to say that he was the funniest, kindest officiant I have ever witnessed. His service was heartfelt and funny at the same time.
After the ceremony, we headed to Dan's parent's home for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony. We were welcomed into the home so warmly by Dan's family. David and I have photographed a few tea ceremonies and they all are done slightly different. We truly enjoyed this one. Alyssa looked stunning in her traditional red dress.
After the tea ceremony, we headed to the University of Alberta Botanic Garden to photograph the family and formals in the Japanese Garden, which is one of our absolute favourite spots to take photos. Despite the heat, the wedding party was fantastic! We got some beautiful photos for Alyssa and Dan and then we were off to Spruce Grove to the Elk's Social Hall for their reception.
The meal was catered by the ever fabulous Elizabethan Catering staff and as always, the meal was delicious. The Mc's Renee and Mandie did an amazing job throughout the evening and DJ Hugz from Mr. Smooth kept the music going and people up on the dance floor.
Dan provided a surprise choreographed dance with his groomsmen for Alyssa which was a huge hit as was the beautifully choreographed first dance so elegantly done by Dan and Alyssa. With the fog, it was breathtaking.
Julie manned the Photo Booth and again all the guests were so happy and entertained. You can tell she just loves working the Photo Booth and she makes it so much fun for all involved. Thank you so much again, Julie.
Dan and Alyssa had cupcakes made by The Sweet Side in three different flavours. They were so delicious.
Thank you, Dan and Alyssa for allowing us the honour and privilege of capturing your special day. You, your families and wedding party were welcoming and gracious. Thank you!
