Snowy Family Fun Photography at Hawrelak Park

On a snowy Saturday afternoon, David and I were off to one of my all time favourite spots to photograph Tevra, Matt and Matt's family. This was supposed to be a fall session, but I don't think even a fall session would have been as beautiful or as fun as this wintery one was. The weather was a bit chilly (some of us had frozen feet by then end) but it was still a nice day and with the fresh fallen snow, the trees were beautiful. This group was so much fun, we got some really great posed shots, but they were also up for some fun shots as well. They even did their homework coming up with some ideas of their own, which was fantastic and we loved their ideas. At one point we came across a tree stump that someone had put in the middle of one of our favourite walking areas, so we incorporated it into a family photograph and some individual shots as well. And then, by the lake, someone had made a snowman, which got included in a few shots as well. I mean, how perfect is a winter photo session with a snowman! We had only one model who refused to look at us (unless we tricked her) - Tevra and Matt's dog, Kierra (I hope I spelled her name correctly, if not, I am so sorry). It seemed the more we tried, the more determined she was not to look at us. Throwing a snowball at David's head at one point got her attention. And, of course I enjoyed every minute of it - lol. It was even more funny when someone in the family also threw two snowballs David's way - hitting him both times. Kierra was one very well behaved and well trained dog as well as being so beautiful. She posed for one photo with a snowball on her nose and she ran towards us for some action shots in another. I don't think the lake could have looked more beautiful in the background of the photos - and yes, David, you did pick the better location for your shots. Not that we are competitive at all. And, what better way to end a session than with a family snowball fight!
