Wedding Photos at the Legislative Grounds in Edmonton for Jannell and Tommy!

On Saturday, David and I headed over to Tommy's sister, Jenny's home to photograph both Tommy and Jannell's getting ready shots.  When we got there, Nicole Lai of Aini Make-up and Hair had already been hard at work since 5 am getting the entire bridal party's hair and make up done.  Nicole is absolutely amazing!  She had to get all twelve ladies/girls ready both hair and makeup and she got them all beautifully done and on time!  After the getting ready shots including a blindfolded Tommy and Jannell getting to "see" each other briefly, we headed off to Glory to God Christian Assembly for their ceremony.  It was an absolutely beautiful ceremony with Jannell and Tommy writing their own vows.  There were tears of joy from both bride and groom and also some of the bridal party.  The love between them was evident.  Their ceremony music was done by Jen Bong playing the piano and Jannell's maid of honour, Kethra playing her cello. The flowers were done by Irina of Perfect Moment and were so pretty.

We headed over to the Legislature Grounds for their formal photos.  The wedding party was so much fun to work with.  They were up for anything and the girls really wanted to go into the reflecting pool for a couple shots.  David and I really enjoyed working with this wedding party.  Even though there had been thunder and lightening and pouring rain in the morning, it was a warm and sunny day for the rest of the day.  We didn't have a whole lot of time for formals, but with a cooperative wedding party, we got a lot of great shots for Jannell and Tommy.

Their reception was held at the Royal Executive Inn West Edmonton.  The room was beautifully decorated and the food provided by Steels was delicious.  The reception started with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony.  This was so beautiful and touching and Jannell looked amazing in her traditional Chinese dress which had also been Jenny's dress.  Janet and Tommy had a Photo Booth courtesy of Jason from Frenzy.  He had a lot of great props and everyone seemed to enjoy it!  Their music was done by Terry at Sound Katz and I don't think the dance floor was every empty.  He did a fantastic job!

One of the groomsmen, Greg, came up with a pretty funny game for Jannell and Tommy that we have never seen done before.  They had to pop balloons together without using their hands and inside were various tv shows or movies and love scenes that Tommy and Jannell had to re-enact.  This proved to be very entertaining to watch and after popping the required balloons, a request was made for them to re-enact the Spiderman 1 scene with Tommy being held upside down by his groomsmen and a spiderman mask was provided by Jason from Frenzy.

Speeches produced lots of tears.  It was so beautiful to hear how much love and respect there was in the room.  A special moment came when Tommy gave a thank you speech to his mom and the room gave her a standing ovation.  Both moms were absolutely amazing and made both David and I feel so welcome throughout the day.  Thank you to both of you.  You are truly both beautiful, strong women and Tommy and Jannell are so lucky to have such a phenomenal support system.

The wedding cake was so beautiful and absolutely delicious and was made by Michael at Shan Shan Bakery.

Thank you to Tommy, Jannell and both your families for allowing us to capture all the special moments of your day.  It was truly an honour.
