On Thursday evening, David and I were off to Fort Saskatchewan for one of my absolute favourite fall parks to photograph one of our absolute favourite families. We have been photographing Marie and Dagen's family since Danika (their oldest) was a baby - and she's now seven! Both Danika and Makena are naturals in front of the camera and the entire family is just a joy to photograph. Talk about making our job easy. Each year, we try to come up with a new location to do their family photos at and I was very excited to show Marie this latest location I had suggested. It was a bit of a drive for us as well as them, but I think it was totally worth it.
I have no idea what this park is called, but it has this great area with a very natural, rustic looking fence, a great bridge, lots of fall foliage and to top it off, a trestle bridge and all within walking distance. It is a very popular park for photos and we were very fortunate to have a client a few years back tell us about it.
The girls were so great as they usually are and always full of smiles for us. I only wish I had half as much energy as they do! Isn't that the case with all children though - if only we could bottle their energy for us! But, the girls were up for everything we asked of them and they keep me laughing because they both have a fantastic sense of humour. Last year, David was "cousin David" to Danika and this year he was "David Bowie!" When I reminded her of the "cousin" thing, he became, "cousin David Bowie."
Thank you, Marie and Dagen for allowing us to keep photographing your family year after year. It truly is an honour to watch your girls grow and change year after year!
