Thank you so much, Averyl and Levi for allowing us to capture your family's photos.

Family Photos at Hawrelak Park with Tanya, James and their Beautiful Family http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/10/family-photos-at-hawrelak-park-with-tanya-james-and-their-beautiful-family I have been a bit lax on our blog posts this past few weeks.  We have been incredibly busy with all kinds of fall sessions along with editing wedding photos from this season.  So, I apologize.  However, all our sneak peeks from those sessions are on our Stolen Moment Photography by Candice Facebook page.

On Saturday, David and I headed out for a fantastic fall family session with Tanya, James and their three children, Dakota, Cheyenne, and Kyra.  What a great family!  They were so much fun to work with and had the best smiles.  Considering it is getting close to the end of October, the weather was great!   There were still lots of leaves left on the trees as well as on the ground and Kyra could not wait to have a leaf throwing with her siblings at the end of the session.

Thank you so much, Tanya and James for allowing us the privilege of photographing your family

Beautiful Hot Summer Wedding for Kara and Adam http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/9/beautiful-hot-summer-wedding-for-kara-and-adam Okay, so I am a little behind in posting this because I left for a road trip to Kelowna with my daughter shortly after Kara and Adam's wedding. and then came home and spent a week in bed not feeling well.   So, I apologize.  Luckily, Kara and Adam are some of the nicest, most easy going people ever.  In fact, even a bridesmaid dress malfunction on the wedding day didn't even seem to rattle Kara.  Everything worked out though when Kara's maid of honour came to the rescue having a brand new black dress in her closet that fit.  The girls' hair and makeup was done by Beauty of DL.  The beautiful flowers were created by Gayle at Champagne Bride on A Beer Budget.  Don't you just love such creative names?

Kara looked stunning in her dress and she rocked all the poses we asked of her.  She literally had the poise of a model.  Thank you so much, Kara for making our job so easy!  Also making the wedding day run so smoothly was their wedding planner, Debbie Nazurkewick.  She was a dream to work with.

For their wedding ceremony, we headed to McClure United Church where Father Jim Lochhead performed a beautiful ceremony.  And then it was off to the Legislative Grounds for the formals.  It was a great day for photos and we got some great ones of Kara and Adam and their wedding party.  All of whom looked amazing!

We headed to Delwood Community Hall for the reception.  Dinner was catered by the always fantastic Accapella Catering.  Their very elegant cake was made by More Than Sprinkles.   The DJ from Boom Town Sounds did a great job of keeping everyone up dancing.

Thank you so much Kara and Adam for being so awesome to work with and for allowing us the privilege of capturing your special day!

Beautiful summer Engagement Session with Kacie and Scott http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/9/beautiful-summer-engagement-session-with-kacie-and-scott This past Sunday, David and I headed to what most people would consider an odd place for engagement photos.  However, I honestly did not even think it was odd in the least.  In fact, I was quite excited.  We headed to Evergreen Memorial Gardens (aka cemetery).  You see, Kacie's parents live on cemetery land.  Yes!  Katie grew up being able to walk through a cemetery!  One of my first questions to her was if she had ever had a party in the cemetery.  The answer - yes!  I mean, to me, that would be so cool to grow up with a cemetery as part of your back yard.  Cemeteries are very well groomed and beautifully landscaped and so to me, it was a great spot to do engagement photos.  And, I bet in most photos you would not even be able to tell that we were in a cemetery.

Kacie and Scott were so much fun to work with.   Kacie is so personable and Scott has a great sense of humour.  In fact, he sounds an awful lot like a photographer I work with (hint, hint, David).  They had great smiles for all the photos, allowed us to just be creative and were patient with us as we looked for the spots we wanted to use.  I mean, seriously!  There were so many places we could pose them in!  And, they even allowed us to take a photograph or two of the beautiful white ducks!  I have never seen white ducks except on a farm, so I was over the moon when I saw these ones.  Kacie said that her and her sister while growing up were able to hold the ducklings and that they could even go up and pet them because the ducks were so used to them.  Not to say that these ducks weren't tame - both David and I had our legs and shoes nibbled on and one even tried to nibble my lens hood!  LOL

We had a fantastic time getting to know a bit more about Kacie and Scott and are looking forward to photographing their wedding next year.  Thank you so much for choosing us to capture these special moments in your lives.

Adorable Girls With Their Beautiful Mom at Government House for A Portrait Session http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/8/adorable-girls-with-their-beautiful-mom-at-government-house-for-a-portrait-session First off, can I just say how adorable these two girls are!  Both Gemma and Ella warmed up to us quickly and we had so much fun with them and their mom, Tammy.  Andrew, Tammy's husband is out of the country for a few months and so, Tammy wanted to get some Mom and daughter shots to surprise him with.  We have been photographing this family since Gemma was a baby and I cannot believe how much these two have grown since our last session with them.

I have always said that little ones should be able to run around and have fun during a session and Government House grounds is a perfect place for that.  There are so many spots that we can pose some shots and then just let them be children and have some fun while we grab some candid shots.

I found it so hard to pick some sneak peeks from this session because there were so many cute shots.

Thank you so much, Tammy for allowing us the privilege to capture the memories of your girls as they grow through the years.

Beautiful Wedding Photography with A Country Flair For Meghan and Trevor http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/8/beautiful-wedding-photography-with-a-country-flair-for-meghan-and-trevor Last Saturday we were off to our second wedding of the weekend.  The wedding of Meghan and Trevor was happening at the Sandman Inn West Edmonton.  We started by taking a quick sneak peek at the ceremony room and the reception room.  I am pretty sure I squealed with delight when I saw the decorations.  Rustic doors, sunflowers, burlap.  We headed up to the 11th floor to capture Meghan's getting ready shots.  Again, I was so excited about all the details she had including her cowboy boots.  We got some fun shots of her with her bridesmaids as well as some touching shots of her with her mom.  Did I mention how beautiful her flowers and her bridesmaid flowers were?  Sunflowers and roses.  You would never have guessed that the bride's bouquet came from one place and the bridesmaids from another.  They were a perfect match from Wild Orchard and Two Buds.  The hair and makeup was done by IMH Studios.

We went down to the lobby and caught up with Trevor and his guys as well as Meghan and Trevor's two dogs, Reilly and Harper, aka the ring bearer and flower girl.  The guys looked very handsome in their navy suits with red ties and sport team socks!

Their ceremony was very touching as they had written their own vows and was officiated Tim Hydzik.  After the ceremony, we went to the lobby to do some family photos.  During the photos, they sky just let loose.  I don't think I have ever seen it come down so hard!  However, we set off with great hope that the rain would stop by the time we got to the legislature ground.  And if not, two of the bridesmaids had gone out to buy umbrellas.  Well, the rain did not stop.  But, the whole wedding party were such troopers and although some got more soaked than others, we got some great shots regardless of the rain.  And, there are very few times when you can actually get shots with the fountains in the background where there is absolutely no one in the pool or on the grounds around the fountains.

We headed back to the Sandman for the reception.  The room was beautifully decorated and the cake - two layers with cupcakes around it was so pretty and as we found out later, so delicious - from Art of Cake.  The DJ from Happy Wife Happy Life kept the dance floor busy as well as at the Photo Booth.  To end the evening, we went outside with Meghan and Trevor to get some sparkler/light painting shots.

Thank you so much Meghan and Trevor for allowing us the honour of capturing your special day and for being so great and making our job so easy despite the weather not cooperating like we had hoped.

Fantastic Edmonton Wedding Photography with Matthew and April http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/8/fantastic-edmonton-wedding-photography-with-matthew-and-april On Friday, David and I were off for the first of two weddings we had for this past weekend.  We started at Matthew's parent's home to photograph the details - April's dress, bouquet, etc.  April had her hair and makeup done by Elizabeth from Blushed Beaute.

We then headed over to the Southside Pentecostal Assembly where April and her bridesmaids were going to get into their dresses as well as where the ceremony and reception were held.

The church was absolutely beautiful and they even had the backdrop for the church lighted green which were April and Matthew's wedding colors.  There were also these amazing handmade decorations done by Rowena Brzak.  The flowers were done by Grower Direct.

The ceremony had traditional Filipino aspects to it including the veil, cord, coins and bible as well as a unity candle and a beautiful duet performed by Mr Jayson  and Dinah Abad, April's brother and sister in law.    The ceremony was amazing and performed by Pastor Doug Crouse.

Because of the threat of rain, Matthew and April chose to have their formals done at the Citadel which is also a favourite spot of ours to use when the weather is bad.  The wedding party and parents were brought to the Citadel in the platinum ETS bus.  It was a beautiful looking bus!

After we got some great photos for them, we headed back to the church for the reception.  Matthew and April had their first dance immediately after their entrance, which was so well done.  The only other time we have seen this done was when we shadowed a photographer in New York for a wedding.  It is a very neat way of organizing their evening.  Likewise, they sat in a table for two at a slightly higher level then the bridal party table which also included the parents.  Very nice!

The music for the evening was provided by Acid Mix Productions and instead of catering the meal, they brought in food from Fat Jakks restaurant.  It was so good.

Thank you so much, Matthew and April for giving us the privilege of capturing the moments of your special day!

Beautiful Summer Wedding Photography with Alyssa and Dan http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/8/beautiful-summer-wedding-photography-with-alyssa-and-dan On Saturday, David and I were off to the Beullah Alliance Church to photograph Alyssa's getting ready shots.  Alyssa's hair and make up were beautifully done by Time Out Beauty Retreat in Spruce Grove.  Her dress was absolutely stunning.  I don't think I have ever seen a dress like hers.  It even had hidden pockets!  She looked radiant when she put it on.  The flowers were so pretty and done by Tarah's Grower Direct.  The church coordinator, Marley Horne did a fabulous job of keeping everything on time and all the details were perfect.

The guys looked fantastic in their grey suits.  Each guy had DC character cufflinks and Oilers socks.

Their ceremony took place in the chapel and was officiated by Pastor Neil Troung.  I have to say that he was the funniest, kindest officiant I have ever witnessed.  His service was heartfelt and funny at the same time.

After the ceremony, we headed to Dan's parent's home for the traditional Chinese tea ceremony.  We were welcomed into the home so warmly by Dan's family.  David and I have photographed a few tea ceremonies and they all are done slightly different.  We truly enjoyed this one.  Alyssa looked stunning in her traditional red dress.

After the tea ceremony, we headed to the University of Alberta Botanic Garden to photograph the family and formals in the Japanese Garden, which is one of our absolute favourite spots to take photos.  Despite the heat, the wedding party was fantastic!  We got some beautiful photos for Alyssa and Dan and then we were off to Spruce Grove to the Elk's Social Hall for their reception.

The meal was catered by the ever fabulous Elizabethan Catering staff and as always, the meal was delicious.  The Mc's Renee and Mandie did an amazing job throughout the evening and DJ Hugz from Mr. Smooth kept the music going and people up on the dance floor.

Dan provided a surprise choreographed dance with his groomsmen for Alyssa which was a huge hit as was the beautifully choreographed first dance so elegantly done by Dan and Alyssa.  With the fog, it was breathtaking.

Julie manned the Photo Booth and again all the guests were so happy and entertained.  You can tell she just loves working the Photo Booth and she makes it so much fun for all involved.  Thank you so much again, Julie.

Dan and Alyssa had cupcakes made by The Sweet Side in three different flavours.  They were so delicious.

Thank you, Dan and Alyssa for allowing us the honour and privilege of capturing your special day.  You, your families and wedding party were welcoming and gracious.  Thank you!

Beautiful Wedding Photography with Florence and Gale http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/7/beautiful-wedding-photography-with-florence-and-gale I'm a bit behind on this blog but the other weekend, David and I were off to the Holiday Inn on Gateway Blvd to photography Florence and her girls getting ready.  The room was full of activity although hair and makeup had already been done at Rox Salon where Florence's niece works.  We got some great shots for the girls including some special shots that Florence specifically wanted.  The girls' flowers were so pretty and done by Florence's niece, Andrea Milne.  Great job, Andrea!

The ceremony was also in the hotel in the Evergreen Ballroom.  The room looked beautiful so nicely decorated.  The ceremony was performed by Val Mileke and there was a very touching sand ceremony at the end that united both their families together which included their children.  Oh and I cannot forget to mention that beautiful, unique blue wedding bands.  So pretty!

After the ceremony we were off to the Alberta Legislature grounds to photograph the formals.  It was a +30 day but the wedding party were real troopers getting the photos done in the heat.  We had some fun at the end with Florence and Gale getting some shots that they suggested.  And finished off with a great shot of Gale and Florence in front of Gale's phenomenal car, a gorgeous blue Nissan GT-R.

Back at the hotel, our fantastic Photo Booth lady, Julie was getting the photo booth started.  I think everyone had a fun time as it was busy the entire evening.  Thank you, Julie!  We really appreciate how much fun you make it for the wedding guests.  They really enjoyed it and you!

The cake was a cake topper and three different kinds of miniature cupcakes done by Sweet Gigi.  The dance floor was busy thanks to Andrea with Teleproductions.  And he did that despite how hot it was in the ballroom.

Thank you so much Florence and Gale for allowing us the honour of documenting your special day for you.

Amazing Wedding Session with Megan and David in Beaumont http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/7/amazing-wedding-session-with-megan-and-david-in-beaumont On Saturday, David and I were off to the Four Points By Sheraton on Ellerslie Road to photograph Megan's getting ready shots.  The hotel room was buzzing with activity as hair was being done by Vikings Edge Hair Design and makeup by Jolene at Lily Grey Artistry.  Both the ladies were fantastic and I would highly recommend them to any bride.  All the flowers were made by the bride's mom Lavonne, Megan and David.  They were so well done!  Megan even had an owl in her bouquet - a hidden reference to Harry Potter, of course.  Once we got all the getting ready shots, we were off to the Beaumont Community League for the ceremony and to meet up with David and his groomsmen.  David had gotten all the guys the coolest Star Wars cuff links and tie clips.  Megan is a HUGE Harry Potter fan and David is a HUGe Star Wars fan and they had little bits of both throughout their wedding.  We had a fantastic time at their engagement session with this theme and I am thrilled to say I think we even topped that with their wedding.

Their wedding officiant was Sandra Thompson, whom we have worked with several times before.  If you are looking for an officiant who is funny and sweet and who will throw some wedding advice into your ceremony, definitely give her a call!  Megan surprised one of her family members by calling him to be her "flower man" and he was a huge hit with all the guests.  Megan was walked down the aisle by her father and step father.  I have to say that both Megan and David's entire family (including extended family) and friends were all so nice.  We really enjoyed spending time with so many of them throughout the day.

After the ceremony, we were off to the Devon Voyageur park for the formals.  What a fun time!  The groomsmen kept us all laughing.  In fact, my jaws actually hurt by the end of the formals from laughing so much.  Megan had brought along two Harry Potter books which we gladly used in some of the photos.  And, the way Megan and David looked at each other the entire day was so beautiful.  These two are truly in love and made for each other.

The reception was back at the Beaumont Community hall with the meal catered by Elegant Affairs.  I think everyone enjoyed the delicious meal and their staff were really great.  I have to mention the cake - this cake was unbelievable.  It had details of both Harry Potter and Star Wars on it - so amazingly done by Once Upon A Cake and the topper was an actual 3-D image of Megan and David taken after their engagement session at West Edmonton Mall.  Amazing!  The music and Photo Booth were by Revolution's and she was so much fun to work with!

One of my favourite parts of the night was taking Megan and David out to do some shots with her wand and his light sabre.  Even though it wasn't quite dark yet, with some in camera "magic", we made it dark and the sky looked so awesome.  We got some incredible shots of the bride and groom wielding their choice of "weapon."

Thank you so much Megan and David for allowing us to be a part of your day and capture all your amazing, touching moments.  We wish you all the happiness in the world!

First Communion Photography at St. Charles Church http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/6/first-communion-photography-at-st-charles-church On Sunday morning, David and I were off to photograph the First Communion of Noah - the middle son of one of our favourite families!  We have photographed Noah since he was a newborn, as well as his sister, Ameena.  We were honoured to photograph Noah's older brother, Jacob's First Communion four years ago as well.  Their mother, Christina, gets as excited about photos as I do!  I just adore that about her!  Christina and her entire family, Mom, Dad, and her extended family of Grandma, Aunts, cousins, etc. are just about the nicest people you could ever meet.  And, Christina has found her soulmate who is just as kind and sweet as she is.

Noah was such a trooper with the photos after the service.  He put up with all our ideas and never complained once.  I am always impressed with Christina's children.  They have to be some of the best, most well mannered children I have ever met.  They always have smiles for photos and any pose you ask of them, they do.

Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of photographing Noah's First Communion and your family photos and inviting us into your home and family.  We are truly honoured.

Spring Wedding with Heather and Bobby http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/6/spring-wedding-with-heather-and-bobby On Saturday, David and I were off to photograph the wedding of Heather and Bobby.  We went to the Sandman Inn for Heather's getting ready shots.  The room was a bustle of activity with Jessie Byran, the makeup artist and friend of the bride, putting finishing touches on the bridesmaids.  Heather's dress was absolutely stunning and when she put it on - WOW!  She was a stunning bride!  The bridesmaid dresses were this amazing shade of blue/green.  I don't think I have ever seen dresses in that color before, and the dresses looked amazing on all the girls.

We then were off to Holy Trinity Anglican Church, which is this absolutely stunning brick church with beautiful stained glass windows that we have had the privilege of photographing in a few times now.  We met up with Bobby and his groomsmen there and soon found out that we were in for a fun day - the groomsmen were quite the characters.  The ceremony was officiated by Heather Liddell.  The ring bearer and flower girls did a fantastic job of walking up the aisle and the ring bearer was so adorable standing up there with the groomsmen throughout the service.

We were not 100% sure where we were going to go for the formals, but once Heather described a location that Bobby loved, it became certain that we were going to go the Legislative grounds.  This wedding party was up for anything!  Some of the first shots we got were with the wedding party in the fountain - this after one of the groomsmen went in with his shoes on!  We mentioned that there was a climbing tree and the guys were definitely up for that as well.  We even ran into another wedding party who had the same colour bridesmaid dresses and it was decided that we needed to get a photo of both brides and all their bridesmaids.  It was awesome!

After a fun time at the formals, we headed back to the Sandman Inn for the reception.  Heather and Bobby had a separate room with two babysitters they had hired for all the kids during the supper and speeches, which was fantastic for all the parents.  The kids came back to enjoy the dance.  The cake top and cupcakes were made by a friend of the bride and groom, Bonny Heins and they were delicious.  The DJ was also a friend of the bride and groom from Fort McMurray - Jamie Carter.

I don't think we could have asked for a more photographic bride, groom and wedding party and on top of that, they were all so much fun to work with.  Thank

you so much, Heather and Bobby for allowing us to capture your wedding day!

Beautiful Intimate Wedding Between Monica and Theresa http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/6/beautiful-intimate-wedding-between-monica-and-theresa On Saturday, David and I were off to St. Albert to photograph Monica and Theresa's wedding.  It was at a spot we had never been at before, but quickly became a favourite.  It was at the beautiful rustic shelter at the St. Albert campground.  It was a beautiful small wedding with a wonderful and touching ceremony delivered by marriage commissioner, Brian Naper.  We would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a marriage commissioner.  His ceremony almost brought me to tears.  It was truly beautiful.  Of course, it could also have been from the looks of pure love shared between Monica and Theresa.  Sometimes, you just know that two people are truly meant to be together and that can definitely be said for this couple.  They were a joy to photograph because their love came shining through in each and every photo.

Theresa's bouquet was this amazing mix of blues and purples.  It was so pretty.  Because of the chilly weather, she also wore a faux fur around her shoulders.  It made her look so elegant.  She almost looked like a bride right out of a 50's bridal magazine.  We walked from the ceremony site over to Lois Hole Provincial park and used the outlook and the wooden footbridge for some stunning shots of Monica and Theresa.

Although we were not hired to photograph their entire day, as this was a gift from their amazing cousin, Carrie and her family, we did offer to go to their reception dinner to photograph the cutting of the cake.  The cake was also a gift from another family member and was so pretty.

Thank you, Monica and Theresa for allowing us the honour of photographing your beautiful wedding day.  And, thank you, Carrie for contacting us and then hiring us to photograph their special day.

Adorable 6 Month Old Baby Photo Session with Breanna and her Big Sister, Jessica http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/6/adorable-6-month-old-baby-photo-session-with-breanna-and-her-big-sister-jessica Last weekend, we had Kim and her daughters Jessica and Breanna in for Breanna's 6 month session.  I can honestly say, that although I often have a hard time picking favourites for sneak peeks, this time as by far the hardest I have ever had.  Breanna is such a beautiful baby and gave such adorable smiles (we had to work for them because she was very serious that day, but when she smiled, she lit up the room) that each photo is absolutely pure cuteness.

We have been photographing this family since Jessica was a newborn and she was an adorable baby as well who has grown into a very beautiful 6 year old girl.  Jessica is an amazing big sister as well and was able to get Breanna to smile and giggle.  There is definitely some serious sister love between these two.

We also took advantage of David's newly finished backyard stone patio and water feature to grab a couple outside shots at the end of the session.  I'm so glad we have moved the studio to his home as it definitely is a photographer's dream to photograph in.

Thank you, Kim for allowing us to capture your beautiful girls for you.

Fantastic Engagement Session with Meghan and Trevor at The Muttart Conservatory http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/5/fantastic-engagement-session-with-meghan-and-trevor-at-the-muttart-conservatory On Sunday, David and I headed to one of our favourite spots in Edmonton - the grounds of the Muttart Conservatory to take Meghan and Trevor's engagement photos.  Their wedding is coming up very quickly - this August!  Meghan and Trevor brought along their fur babies - Reilly and Harper.  These puppies are so adorable.  Reilly is just over a year and Harper is 11 months.  It is amazing how well they listened being that they are still in their puppy stage.  Reilly even knows how to high 5!  It's impressive.  Meghan used this session as an opportunity to do a trial run on her hair and makeup and she was stunning!  I loved her outfit too.  There is something so classic about a white dress, denim jacket and cowboy boots!  LOVE!  The day was absolutely beautiful for the session, although it did get pretty hot while we were doing our shots up at the pyramids, but they were such troopers!  I love the way Meghan and Trevor look at each other - you can tell they are so much in love and so happy together.  They are so cute together.

Thank you, Meghan and Trevor for allowing us to photograph both your engagement photos and your wedding day!  We cannot wait for your big day to get here!

Spring Engagement Photos at the Muttart with Ashlee and Paul http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/5/spring-engagement-photos-at-the-muttart-with-ashlee-and-paul On Saturday, David and I met up with our dear friend, Donna who purchased a photography session for her friends Ashlee and Paul as a wedding gift to them.  Isn't that such a thoughtful gift?  Ashlee and Ryan will be getting married on October 13th.  These two are such great people and so much fun to  work with.  We photographed them inside the pyramids at the Muttart Conservatory.  It is always so beautiful there and it was especially fantastic that the feature pavilion was all about love.  It has some beautiful quotes on love and was so springy that it was hard to pull ourselves away to go to a different pyramid, but we knew each one had some fantastic places to photograph.  In one pavilion, we even did a take on the toad turning into a prince - so much fun.  Ashlee and Paul were up for anything.  You can tell just by the way they look at each other that they are so much in love.

Thank you again, Donna for purchasing such a wonderful gift for your friends and for choosing us to photograph their engagement.

Beautiful Newborn Boy Photography with Gina, Rod, Charlie and big brother, Joey http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/4/beautiful-newborn-boy-photography-with-gina-rod-charlie-and-big-brother-joey On Tuesday, David and I were off to Gina and Rod's home to photograph thirteen day old Charles "Charlie" and his older brother, Joey.  Charlie was sound asleep when we got there but he was wide awake, beautiful bright eyes through the session.  Although in a lot of the photos, it looks like he was sleeping, he was just the perfect model and closed his eyes for the photos.  Dad has this magic way about him as well.  He would literally say, "Charlie close your eyes" and Charlie's eyes would close.  Cutest thing ever.  Charlie looks so much like his big brother, Joey.  And is Joey ever a great big brother.  I asked him to give Charlie a kiss and it was the sweetest thing ever.

This entire family is so photogenic.  We have photographed Gina, Rod and Joey a couple times recently.  The first was for their maternity session and then at Gina's sister, Dana's wedding at the beginning of the month.  It was a mere 11 days before Charlie entered the world right on his due date.  Oh and Dana made the most adorable bunny bunting bag and ears.  I so want a pink and a blue set for the studio.  So talented!

Thank you, Gina and Rod for allowing us the honour of photographing your beautiful family and congratulations on another perfect, adorable baby boy!

Muttart Conservatory Engagement Session with Heather and Robert http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/4/muttart-conservatory-engagement-session-with-heather-and-robert On Wednesday evening, David and I were off to brave the elements with Heather and Robert at the Muttart Conservatory.  It was definitely a chilly night, but Heather and Robert braved it like troopers.  Especially Heather who was in a light dress and sweater and heels.  These two are so cute together and you can tell how much they love each other.  Heather was all excited as she was heading to Vegas on Thursday for her bachelorette party.

We climbed to the top of the hill where the dove of peace statue is and got some great photos of the two with downtown in the background and then back to the pyramids for a few shots before heading into the trees where we hoped the wind wouldn't be as bad to get some more pics.

David and I are looking forward to your wedding this June.  Thank you for choosing us to capture your engagement and wedding!

Beautiful Newborn Girl Photography with Maria, Renalto, big brother Marco and Isabella http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/4/beautiful-newborn-girl-photography-with-maria-renalto-big-brother-marco-and-isabella On Sunday, David and I headed to Maria and Renalto's home to photograph their newborn daughter, Isabella along with big brother, Marco.  Isabella is absolutely beautiful, just like her Mom.  Marco looks so much like his Dad, Renalto.  All four make for a very beautiful family.  Isabella was awake for the whole session, but she was the perfect model.  She started out with a smile during the family session - at 11 days old!  She wanted to stretch out all the time - she knew she could and I guess she was tired of curling up after nine months in the womb - lol.  Even when I swaddled her, she stretched her way out of it.  But, she didn't fuss the entire time.  Marco was fantastic as well.  He did great for the family photos and then even snuggled in to give his baby sister a hug and a kiss.

Thank you so much Maria and Renalto for allowing us the privilege of photographing such a special time in your life!

Intimate Wedding of Dana and James in Spruce Grove http://www.stolenmomentphotography.net/blog/2017/4/intimate-wedding-of-dana-and-james-in-spruce-grove On Saturday, David and I were off to photograph our first wedding of 2017!  Dana and James had some very unique ideas for their wedding and they all turned out fantastic and made for a very beautiful wedding.  We had met Dana and James initially through Dana's sister, Gina.  Thank you so much for helping choose us to photograph this fantastic wedding!  Gina is nine months pregnant, in fact, her due date is exactly 11 days after the wedding.  She was such a trooper the entire day - I only wish I had half as much energy as she did with my pregnancies.  Even at the reception, she was up and dancing!

We started off with Dana and her four bridesmaids getting ready along with Dana and Jame's daughter, Constance who was the beautiful flower girl.  Dana's dress was beautiful with lots of beading and a beautiful veil to match.  Dana chose the absolute cutest pair of Puma ivory runners which helped her to be comfortable the entire day!  They were so awesome!

We then headed off to Garden Valley hall where the ceremony was taking place.  We met James, his four groomsmen and Dana and Jame's nephew, Joey who was the ring bearer.  The guys all looked very handsome in their tuxes and royal blue vests.

The ceremony was officiated by Janice Gordon who gave a beautiful ceremony.  Dana and James had the idea to use a nintendo and game in their ceremony as they are both big gamers and they provided Janice with this amazing speech to give during the service of the symbolism to them regarding the game.  It was very touching.

A big thank you to Kennedy Kozak who did a great job as their videographer and who made it so easy for us to do our job!

I have to mention the amazing bouquets and centrepieces!  Dana and James made all of them - stunning roses made out of pages from a Stephen King novel called "Rose Matter."  The time it must have taken to make them, I can't even imagine, but they were amazing!  The centre pieces were made of up two of these roses in a vase placed along with a candle inside books that had places cut out for the vase and candle.  All I can say is WOW!

After the ceremony, we headed to Dog Rump Creek park in Stony Plain to do the formals.  This wedding party was so much fun to work with.  Not only did we have them laughing (as David and I like to do) but they had us laughing as well.  Thank you all for being so great!

We went back to the hall for the reception.  The dinner was potluck - and was delicious.  There were some Newfoundland delicacies for both the meal and the dessert as Dana's family has roots in Newfoundland.  The music was provided by Grindstone DJ which kept people on the dance floor all night.  Great job, guys! The gorgeous cake was made by a family friend, Doris Mills, who also made Dana's Mom and Dad's cake for their wedding!

Again, thank you so much for allowing us to capture the memories of your day, Dana and James!  We truly enjoyed the day and both of your families are amazing and so welcoming.
